Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Good morning pond! We're riding out a serious of storms blowing through. DS had his first experience with a snow squall driving home from work yesterday. He said that had there not been a truck in front of him that he could barely see their lights, he would've had no clue where the road was. In thankful he made it home safe. Today were supposed to go visit my FIL. We never got a chance to make it there during the Christmas season. They live about an hour and a half away so we'll see how the roads are are since most snow was supposed to drop overnight. Then, we're supposed to get another storm Monday. Winter has definitely arrived!

Good Evening, Pond!
We are winding down a day of blessed chaos here. The family is all home to celebrate Christmas this weekend. Seven kids, ages 9,8,6,5,4,2 and 1 1/2 plus two extra dogs. It’s too cold out for anyone to be out for any length of time, but they did all go out with Grandpa (and a couple of dads for backup) to check for eggs (2/5 eggs made it to the house intact, and the 2 y/o very proudly carried up a frozen egg). Later on, Grandpa took the 3 oldest girls (9,6,5) to the lake to go “boot-skating”)

As much as we love having the crew here… well, I’ll just say that it’s easier to say goodbye to them when they leave us than when we leave their houses. I do check all vehicles to make sure they have the appropriate number of children and dogs before they are cleared to go.

I don’t know, I think it is faster to return to your place than chasing down a sibling in the opposite direction from my place. 😵‍💫
This sounds like a good story!

I figure if they don’t get the right ones home with them, they can sort that out when they get home. 🤣 The two families that have to travel for hours to get here live just 45 minutes apart - easy for them to straighten that out. It would be a little harder if they got one of the local ones home with them.
