Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Hey, it's March and I can see ground! Must have been a mild winter for you, @Alaskan.

We are still seeing chilly early spring temps here and had two small snows in March.

Who'd a thought that for once that stupid ground hog would be right with his prediction!

Today it's been rainy here also but we need the rain and at least it isn't snow so nobody is complaining.

Only thing interesting here is that I had a colony of field rats take up residence under the concrete platform of my coop over the winter so I've spent the past two months at war. May be too early to declare victory but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Yes... very little winter this year... and very early spring.

My goose pen is a swamp... and I haven't yet decided how to handle it!!

I know nothing about gooses but could you find a bunch of pallets and lay side by side?
I have pallets... and I am tempted to toss a few in...

But, I think they want to start to nest... and once they start I do not want to disturb them...

And I am thinking that a newly hatched gosling could easily get wedged under a pallet and die...

So, I am thinking about my pallets, and wondering how I could make them gosling safe...

That might be the best choice...

I have spent a day thinking I would prefer to tear down a couple of fences, move the goose coop to slightly higher ground and put the fences back, better and bigger.

But really now... THAT is unlikely to happen.

So.... maybe 2 more days of thinking it over.... then yes, a rigged up pallet some how
...
