I've got chicks today! Most I'm not keeping (they were a hatch I'm doing for my friend) but this one I am:

It's the star of the article I've been doing on embryo development and I've got pictures of it every single day of its development, lol.

I also set my OEGB eggs. I'm babying the heck out of them this time. They're getting their own incubator and I'm incubating them in an egg carton and hand turning. I will get chicks this time, darn it!

I'm about to give up on calls. 2 were zipping and one of the died while zipping. Fully formed, yolk almost completely absorbed. Today is 26 days. The other is hatched and has a deformed head and crooked bill!

Hey hey my friends, how r u all doing? It's been a long time since I've been on BYC.
It's been pretty crazy. I lost my nicest black Ameraucana hen. Using the one second rule I was dumping out her crop. She aspirated and died within about 5 seconds! Several days before Christmas! Live and learn...
I still have 5 roosters, have my dark blue John Wayne, in with the girls and still have 4 living well together, they will be a year old next month! I handle them often, they r very tame to say the least! I still have Snuggle Bug, he's my sweetest bird! And one of my closest to SOP. The boys are so used to being handled they are better than the girls. They will sit on my arm, I can cuddle with all of them. Lol. There is one boy not as friendly but he knows who's boss.
I wanted to say hi, and wish you guys a good weekend! I miss being on here and talking with y'all.
