Hey hey my friends, how r u all doing? It's been a long time since I've been on BYC.
It's been pretty crazy. I lost my nicest black Ameraucana hen. Using the one second rule I was dumping out her crop. She aspirated and died within about 5 seconds! Several days before Christmas! Live and learn...
I still have 5 roosters, have my dark blue John Wayne, in with the girls and still have 4 living well together, they will be a year old next month! I handle them often, they r very tame to say the least! I still have Snuggle Bug, he's my sweetest bird! And one of my closest to SOP. The boys are so used to being handled they are better than the girls. They will sit on my arm, I can cuddle with all of them. Lol. There is one boy not as friendly but he knows who's boss.
I wanted to say hi, and wish you guys a good weekend! I miss being on here and talking with y'all.

i am OK with this!!

Not yet.  They are pushing on the air cells but not fully absorbed yet, so they can take their time.  I'm a little concerned about the biggest one, it's not moving around and has that irregular margin look.  The others are wiggly little things.  Though my incubator thermometer showed the correct temp where the thermometer sits, it seems as if the shelves below were losing a bit much heat.  I think I need to get behind it and close the lower vent.

The cracked SFH quit overnight.  Leaking is never a good thing.

And while I had the quat out, I wiped the Call eggs because one looked as if it was adhered as it did not rise to the top of the egg on rotation.  There is a ding with radial cracks and sure enough, the embryo anchored to that spot.  So I don't give that one much chance for success either.

Watching the heartbeats on 5 day embryos is cool.  Wish I could find a way to make a living at it.

:fl

I tried putting the cracked Serama egg that I sealed with liquid band aid in to see if it would grow, but after a couple of days, I could still smell that nasty stuff and it worried me, so I took it out. :D

Neatest thing - there's a Pileated woodpecker drumming on a hollow tree in the West hedgerow.   :clap

Simple pleasures for simple folk.  :idunno

Sweet. Wish you did pictures!

Howdy folks.... My Internet is iffy today..... So I may disappear.
Answers me I usually don't run out till the end of the month. I just bought another GB but it won't last. I think my satellite DISH sucks it up

:hugs
