I think I was about to, but decided to candle them first. There is a saying "not dead until warm and dead", so that's why I put them in the incubator. I was really surprised to see them moving after they warmed up, and even more surprised when all of them hatched.

Lucky you! Lost all my Silkie eggs the other night... forgot to check and make sure the broody made it back on them... nope, and it froze... ah, well... gonna give her a bunch of Ohiki eggs I need out of the bator, lol...

I do it with goose eggs, it really boosts the hatch rates for some reason. But usually only for 15 minutes a day

Your 15 mins would end up being my 15 hrs...

Omg I love it. But you know -- they could develop issues as they age. people need to lighten up. Thanks yall. I wish yall could have had a mom like mine. Never overbearing, let me do my own thing, make my own mistakes, never judged me (or didn't tell me if she did) always supported me. And loaned me money when I needed it! Oh gawd!

If I can find the pic of my sisters lined up with our mom, I'll post it. We all have the same smiles. Eyes are definitely similar, but the oldest 2 sisters got the blue, other sister and me got the brown.

I was going by the dark bills. Males usually turn green. It's not a definite, but hopeful!

That's true. Hadn't thought about that.

A month is early for voices, I've had them do complete turnarounds from what they sounded like at that age...
