Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

you should put pics on of the unsold drop dead gorgeous poults in a pm to me......and if you were to ship birds, then maybe they wouldn't be unsold anymore......lol

I will share with everybody :)

I know you have pretty turkeys lol

eta: what color will it be when it feathers out?

enabler!!

These are all Narragansett base. One shows a possible single red gene (Golden Narragansett if so), one shows a possible blackwinged bronze gene (will darken the color), the other two look straight Narri. Build on 3 of them show they will be good dual purpose birds. Until they feather out with their second set it's impossible to be sure.

I have two double yolkers in the incubator now just for S&G. While I won't obsess over it, one of these is big enough for full term full size twins. You can see it in the photo of eggs in the incubator turner.

I missed the story, what makes them mystery chicks?  They sure are cute, and black!

Can't have new breeds, lol... and she knows how much I've always wanted them... had to figure out a way to get them past Shade...

X2, they are adorable!

I adore them!!

Every year until now, verbal reservations were all I needed to be sure that I sold what I set.  This year I have up to 3x the number of requests than I have set eggs, and buyers are coming up with excuses like "oh, you are too far away" (zip code and city are in the listing), or "I changed my mind" or "I have plans, can I come next week?"  when the hatch date was shared at set date.

So I am experimenting with a cheaper prepay model.  I expect 75% hatch from turkey eggs.  I'm offering to set eggs for half the price of hatched poults as the buyer is assuming the risk of failure.  They can end up with more than they wanted, or maybe with less.  Whattya think?  I need to do something...I don't plan to set my market birds until April 1 and I already have four in the brooder that are now homeless, and about 50 more in the incubator.  One of the newly hatched is drop dead gorgeous...

Might work... I hardly ever hatch specifically for people... I did the Calls for the lady in FL only cuz she kept in contact, ask excellent releveant questions about care and housing, didn't haggle over price or price adjustment for driving down to meet her and I got a really good feeling about her throughout our communications...

But I know you don't have access to an auction or an easy outlet for extras... I dunno what else to suggest...

Maybe try posting eggs on the auction thread? Might help some at least...

:love

I think Mini just gave her those eggs and didn't tell her what laid them.. lol

I'd say give it a try and see how it works out for you.  I won't do specific for an individual person, unless they are very adamant about it.  I just set what I have abundance of and try to sell whatever I don't want to keep.  Some I end up giving away, some I can't hatch fast enough.  Although in 3 weeks time, who knows if the demand will still be high.  Right now I have way too many serama cockerels, and I'm sure more on the way with the broodies sitting on more serama eggs.  I'll take all my leftovers to a swap meet and take whatever I can get for them.

Not really. My sister had me cull it (I'm 99% sure it was a prolapse) it was a ranger chick, there's still 116 of those.

Didn't look good

Too true! :lau

Grey pied drake!!!!
:weee

Woohoo!!! :love :love

I need to build a duck home.  On the side slope so it has drainage, with lots of sand on top.  With a raised splash pool.

I NEED some ducks...he is gorgeous!

Do et!!!!

The darn thing pulled right off when I went to open it! There was a tiny bit of snow in front of it, and instead of the snow moving when I pulled it open, the wood around the hinges actually tore right off the coop! So there I was holding a door wondering just how that had happened.
:gig

Mine started out in the same one Lucy! Awesome modification you did!!
I Had ducks on the bottom and chicks and a turkey on top! Made a horizontal divider so the ones on top could come outside. I still use the coop as a grower coop for my baby chicks. :yiipchick

Eta --oops it hadnt been divided off when I took this pic

Lol right in the living room too

Met him at the Love's station at 65 and Bear Creek... he was going to meet up today and I would have told you when, but he decided to drive over in the middle of the night last minute, lol... was awesome to see him...

Oh, and he adores Peg!! :gig

Lol who doesn't!!

Yes that's what gave me the idea, the ducklings always so straight for my hair and get tangled up in it so I figured maybe having some in with her would help and it did, thank goodness! The laundry room is quiet!! I feel like I have a new born baby and when I go to bed I will have to tip toe around the door so I don't wake them
:hugs :hugs
