Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Very cute chicks, Miss Am!

Thanks Chris! Don't the little Sebrights just have the prettiest little feathers! I lost my #1 girl indirectly to that stupid fox so I'm so happy I was able to get my hands on 6! Not including the little tiny one that didn't make it!
I knew she was week and I was taking a chance! Sebrights are just so scarce out here!
My DH says it's like buying a fish that's swimming upside down!

Adorable chicks MissAm! Getting any better indication on the OEGB sexes?

And the older eggs, I just filled the Bator with the best looking eggs that I had at the time, so a few ended up being older ones. Good experiment though!

Eek! Yes, not good. I haven't smacked you in a very long time. Don't make me do it now... :D ;)

The other possible egg of hers is zipping now. I just had to rescue one that zipped but didn't tear the membrane. :/

Oh, and I figured out the slow ones are all older eggs! 13-15 days old at set. But all except 2 have pipped now.

Odd... I forgot in all the commotion, I put eggs in lockdown yesterday... as I picked up the last AC egg, also the oldest, it screamed peeping at me... forgot about it, then check last night... it had pipped, zipped and hatched out perfect... all the other eggs hadno't even started drawdown yet...

Sorry, Rav :hugs  I'd say you would be safer being bedridden for a few months :D

Stellar idea, my man! When will you be here to cover all the chores for me???

I think I've got two bb red boys, and one silver boy! Which I'm glad cause I'm planning if all goes well to keep a silver and a bb red boy depending on how they grow out. The one is super light, I picked "him"(I think) just in case he's a different color! But the sweetest of all the old English is a little SDW female she's pictured. I just love their little doe eyes, but she's just super sweet and not afraid at all, very trusting! So, I think I've got 2 bb red females, 2 SDW females, 2 bb red males, 1 SDW male. Roughly. And the little Sebrights, some are darker than others, don't know what that means, but I reckon I'll find out pretty quick. I think I heard any pink in the combs at all indicates abbot since the females are usually really dark, almost a deep purple. If I'm right, need to research that yet, and depending I may keep a Sebright male too, if they get along with my old English!
