Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Wise decision, as always

A man has to do as a man has to do. I have a grand reply for your previous post, but discretion IS the greater part of valor.

Good morning pond peeps, hope the day is going well for you all.

My feet and ankles are reminding me why you should not wear flip flops while pushing on a shovel digging weeds. Wearing boots would have been better.

Oh well, time to hobble over and get some coffee.

Hi guys so so so busy..... Funny how here in snow country life goes from zero to 100 mph..... Back to zero.
Got a load of 2x4s being delivered...... When i did the barter I didn't know he would deliver too.... I'm not really ready but I can't complain worth free delivery.

Wish someone would drop off a load of lumber at my house!

Things go crazy around here with spring planting. All the garden centers are packed! So different from So Cal where you can plant year-round. Finally getting used to having seasons, but if you don't get stuff while it's in stock, you missed it.

Yeah, that flock in WV just laid them in a bator in TN, that's no mean feat!! :lau

Although, I think someone lied to me...

I don't think there's 4oz of chocolate inside this egg...

Might make it to 4 ounces in a few weeks :D

Renee hatched some gorgeous chocolates. I keep getting blacks and mauves lol. And I think my blue is female :)

:thumbsup

G'Night... :hugs :frow
:sick

Nah, I think I'll pass... would rather unwrap it in 21 days, thanks!
:fl :fl

I got blue eggs being laid everywhere, lol... took my last tailed Araucanas to the auction today, most of Apollo's first generation of daughters are laying now and need to go in with him... lots of rumpless, double tufted girls... can't wait to see F2!!

:yiipchick

Hope they sell well :fl

It's the waiting thats the killer! All of my other pullets have started to lay (7) and they are laying ivory / almost white eggs so i may (assuming my little fella is carrying the right genes) get some blue egg layers outta them (or at least green, which is fine). I gave my other little fella away - the deal is that if he throws blue egg layers, she gives me some eggs, or vice versa. I kinda figured it was a good way to try and cover the bases in terms of getting the best chance of the blue egg laying gene from them.

Excellent deal. I make those kind, share eggs at least. Got 4 tiny Serama eggs from a guy that I sold 2 cockerels to. Yep, they went in the Bator.

Nice deal!! :highfive:

I so wish I could get you some of Apollo's daughters eggs... my fave girl lays a perfect blue, it's amazing... especially when I started most of mine laid green to almost olive even...

I think you should try mailing a couple eggs, as a test. Ziploc baggie, triple boxed. Would be interesting to see how they fare.

Kersplash, can someone help me to my lily pad ?  Yesterday I got conned into judging a basset hound field trial.  Those buggers can really move - I kept up even outrunning my much younger judging partner, but last night my legs were cramping fiercely.  I refuse to age gracefully even though my body and the Princess think that I should.  Went to grandson's bb game at 4 :30 - they won 13 to 6.  Princess went to the 8:30 game (I went to bed) which they won 10 to 4.  They will play as many as 3 games today if they continue winning.  One of his team mates got hit in the head with a pitch last night.  They immediately rushed him to the hospital which is conveniently just across the road.  We'll find out today how he is doing.  :fl

I-bu-pro-fen! :D

Hope the kid is ok. :fl and congrats on the wins!!

Lovely photo of a lovely young lady and her darling duck!
I set 17 days worth of turkey eggs. I'll candle this week to see how they are doing.
I sympathize with you. I am no longer young, slim or fit and keep trying to keep up with those who are.

Best wishes to the injured player. I got my bell rung that way as a kid. Took a couple weeks to feel right. Or at least as right as I am.

I had 2 slow pokes. Checked and one peeped at me! A couple hours later it pipped. 46 hours since the first pip. The other, I could tell had internally pipped, but no movement. Opened it carefully, and found its back in the membrane opening. Looks like it rotated inside and got its beak away from the air pocket and died. I'm betting it happened when it got rolled by other hatchers.

Have a safe trip home. Hope you get lots of babies.

Ouch. Guess I'll leave my boots on then. ;)
