Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Interesting... would like to see how they turn out... I punch the keepers, leave the culls unmarked, lol... had 4 hatch this batch, 1 looked like it *might* have had a tiny bit of white on each wing tip and another just barely had light middle toe tips... I relegated both to cull status just to be on the safe side... but these 2 are looking pretty decent... not a single feather stub this round...

This is the last batch, haven't uploaded pics for this batch yet. I have a toe punch pattern based on hatch quality. White toe/pink tongue/any pink/light skin/any white get #4. Any two minor defect (clear nail, any pink spots on tongue) get #3. One minor defect gets #2. Only two chicks this year got #1 punch. Those are combined with numbered leg bands for ID. I want to grow them out and see how they change, but no matter how they look when they grow up, the flawed birds will be tracked as such.

Ah, ok... I toe punch by parentage and only the breedable ones... I'm not bothering with the culls at all, can't afford to grow them all out...
