Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Great idea : 'Pond School' with Chris, Chaos and ME as teachers. :celebrate Rav could be the principal. We could change the world one person at a time.

Good morning, Pond Life. 13" female class today - nothing to run, but I have to help 'beat brush'. It's raining like a motha, and I am hoping for a small class. I'll check in later.

Now that's a scary thought...

Hope it was a small class for ya...

As usual - an excellent idea, Sour. I kinda like the idea of Rav in a two-piece suit with a leather whip in-hand :D

Enjoy beating yer brush

Nah, that'll be WV in the leather with whip in hand as the Hall Monitor! :lau

Morning all. I see we're off to a fun start! lol
Pond school huh?Lol ;) from what CT just said you might have to give school different name.
Ravyn...You up to the task of principle? ;)

I'm known to be rather a B**** on occasion...

So hubby came across a host of earthworms in a spot where he's been working outside. He took the grands out this morning to gather em for the raised garden beds that haven't been planted this year. It's gonna be a crazy day today.lolView attachment 1053107

Those eould never make it to the raised beds around my place... :lau

Since my awesome all black Tim Nagle cockerel was a dud this spring, Soup is in with the all black girl (Tim Nagle line). The babies look very good, and I am growing them all out. I do see different influences on them. I have a few that I would call more gray than black at hatch, it's a very deep gray but not the powdered charcoal color that I am looking for. However, those have the best tongues at hatch and don't have any clear nails. So I'm not sure how those differ in genotype from those that have blacker skin but an occasional clear nail with black quick. Both types are hatching with black back stubble rather than down. I've only had one hatch with white/pink toes, I've toe punched it as a cull but am growing it out to see how it changes over time. I think I am going to let Soup back out in the flock and put the black boy in, and hope she starts laying again.

Interesting... would like to see how they turn out... I punch the keepers, leave the culls unmarked, lol... had 4 hatch this batch, 1 looked like it *might* have had a tiny bit of white on each wing tip and another just barely had light middle toe tips... I relegated both to cull status just to be on the safe side... but these 2 are looking pretty decent... not a single feather stub this round...
