Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Good Evening Pond Dwellers!
Been busy getting ready for our next adventure, plus youngest DS, DIL, and grandson are here for a few days. Kind of here. Right now they're in town visiting friends. Tomorrow they have some errands to run. Basically, they're sleeping here. That's OK. That baby keeps distracting me from stuff...

Rav, I showed DH pictures of your AC rooster and told him I need one. He just looked at me and quietly said, "I don't think so...". (I'll probably never get one, but I'm sure going to play it for all it's worth. ;))

I discovered today that I have a broody hen. I'm going away, a neighbor is going to live in our house and take care of things, so what did I do? I set her! I'm not going to worry about anyone managing her. She'll either hatch chicks or she won't. She has 10 eggs under her right now. Six of them are green ones from my lone green egg layer. I have yet to have any of her eggs hatch this year. I'm a little concerned about her. She's 3, and laying quite bloody eggs. She did the same a couple of months ago before she went broody, too. (I wouldn't be surprised if she goes broody again before we get home. Oh well, if she does, she does.)

I hope you all have a great evening!

Santa is real - it's the "ice" that makes him appear to have magical powers. I sat on his knee once, and thank goodness nothing "magical" happened :p

:lau:lau

Checked the last egg under the 2 mommas and it was a clear. Guess i missed it when i pulled on day 7. So they hatched all 5 that were fertile.

Time to pull on the Wadders, sludge is getting deep in the pond! lol

:lau My sleepy eyes saw, "Time to pull on the weiners..." Shook my head, took a few long blinks and read it right on the 2nd try. Crisis averted.

It tends to get that way sometimes :D I'm heading for some Lala very soon so I won't be here to try and discourage such behaviour :(

:lau:lau Discourage right, that's what you'd do.

She had three live piglets. There were 4 or 5 that didn't make it (some looked like they'd died a while ago :sick) there's one red spotted one with a belt, one white spotted one and a red one.
