Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

That's OK. I'll just push buttons and see what happens.lol
Bout time to go milk and feed so it'll be a bit before I can sit down and focus on that task.;) I'm not very tech savvy anyway so it takes alot of focus for me.lol

Old chicken tractor at that

Don't be fooled - Rav just sprays RIRs with non-toxic black paint, then calls 'em a fancy name :D
I was thinking it was soot and needed a bath . You mean it posed to be that color

The fireworks started last night and the birds and dogs were flipping out until midnight. I found one dog in the hen house curled up in the nesting box, sad and funny, poor guy. I should probably move the crate back inside for the next 2 weeks since these rednecks don't know when to stop shooting off fireworks. I'm not sure what to do with the chickens, they were all up against the house frozen stiff and I had to put them all away. How crazy is that?
My chickens is so used to me blasting rats fireworks don't faze them:lau. Old trainers trick. If the animal is really scared us two people the person it trust the most should be at it side .Start lighting fire crackers a long distance from the animal . Know that it is focused on the sound direct it's attention to the sound . Move closer and reassure the animal your there and they are Ok in a calm voice. Light more keep doing it until sound very close to them .
The real trick is to assure them that they are in no danger from the sound . If you get to a point where they are really freaking out stop and go back to the long distance . It may take days but with your calm demeanor and a true love for the animal this fear can be over come . All the horses I trained went through this as a part of their training . I could shoot off their backs and did many times .
 goose eggs just wiggled!!!!
:lau:lau

Lmao...I feel like a little kid waiting for Santa!! How silly is that right?!?
:wee:wee:wee

I'll be an absolute mess by the time the actually hatch. Seriously, one would think I've never hatched anything I'm my life!
Well just having know you for a short time I think your all set then :lau

I'm so happy, I'm so happy, no wait that happy is supposed to be pretty. So "I'm so pretty I'm so pretty". Now that just don't make no sense at all. Just keep on rocking little goose eggs.
Soooooo you dig the house of mirrors too ?????? watch out for Chris :lau

I'm fond of my tiny one :D
Well someone has to be :lau might as well be you

Mig has started nesting. She's collected all the leaf litter that was on the ground and piled that into her hut along with any sticks she could get ahold of, she even up rooted a small (dead) tree and was breaking that up into pieces she can put in the hut.

was going to say she is close then I kept reading .

Ravyn and I keep getting error msgs on the site. Anybody else getting it?

@BYC910
She had three live piglets. There were 4 or 5 that didn't make it (some looked like they'd died a while ago :sick) there's one red spotted one with a belt, one white spotted one and a red one.

:ya well now let me see I said eight if it was five that would be eight . Now then Dan you have a problem . Three live out of a litter of seven or eight . :confused:Look for toxins in their pen . Natural and chemical . One of our sows lost half the litter because the feed producer somehow got treated seed corn in the feed mix . It's normal for first litters to have still borne pigs but that is more than half the litter . So check it out just to be on the safe side . The little sow has a good shape and the next litter should be much better . :thumbsup

Well it was her first time so I suppose that had something to do with it. They all seem fine.
That could be . Glad they are doing good .

Yes, that's an old one, but still runs.:)
We train the same way. I had a filly that was born in my backyard and handled from the get go. Had to put a gate on DH'S garage to keep her out. He was welding a piece on the tractor and she waltzed right in and pulled his wrench out of his back pocket. Nothing scared that girl! lol

I don't think there's anything in her pen that was toxic, they've been running in those woods for a year with no problems. But I'll check.
