Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Seems to be going around

I had some saddled looking yolks under my lavender and the eggs never went anywhere!  And they were laid by girls under a year old.  Mystery eggs.

Amen!

And especially if they go through Nashville, right  :th

(guess where mine were last time I tracked?  You got it!  Nashville...)

Nashville's good!! It's Memphis that's the egg killer, lol... and yours are doubled boxed... :fl

Anyone hear from dear Turk lately?

Talked to her a couple days ago... she is friends with Shade on FB... uh.... there was some butthurt caused... :gig

Last week. But I see on FB she has some hatching going on today. Chicks and ducks, no turkeys.

Help me out here with some honest criticism. Here's my only Ameraucana roo. He's just five months old. He's BBS but I'm not sure what his color is exactly. Pics were taken on July 4th after Gus had just enjoyed some watermelon so his beard was a little sticky.
He is super dark, but he's a blue... can't tell how his lacing is or if it's visible? Good straight on chest shot would help... Great comb, muffs/beard, and nice stance... watch the tail angle... that's already about as high as you'd want it... any higher and he might end up with squirrel tail... if it does go higher, pick the hens with the lowest angled tails to breed him over... Overall, not a bad cockerel... want to see how he fills out more... :)
If you haven't seen this contest, I suggest you take a peek. Some adorable broody momma and baby pics!! https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...-post-your-best-broody-and-babies-pic-and-win I haven't decided on another entry (I already entered a duck pic, since they aren't doing the "Other Fowl" calendar this year  ), but I did take these yesterday and this morning:
You know I love the top pic, lol... 1 week for submissions? You're gonna be tough to beat... maybe I should get Shade to submit a couple pics too! :gig

Thanks! He has no edging/lacing that I can see. His secondaries look solid black but he's changing a lot nowadays.

He will... he's right at that age... looks like he hasn't finished getting all his adult feathers either... soon as those finish and he fills in a bit more I'd feel more comfortable with an assessment...

I don't think she set a deadline on that contest. At least, not that I saw.

And I don't really care about winning. I just love taking and sharing the pics. Plus, when I made the suggestion for the contest, I specifically mentioned ducks and other fowl, since the calendar contest is for chickens only this year. Too many adorable "others" out there to be ignored.

So far Katherine has hatched 1 silkie/cochin mix, 3 pure cochins and 1 choc-orp/cochin mix, as of a couple of hours ago. 1 more cochin egg, and 2 more choc-orp/cochin eggs left, I think.

Yay, broodys!!! :celebrate

Yeah, I still can't believe that... it was such a hit last year... way less time to submit and over twice the submissions I think than the chickens, lol...

:lau

Oh so many tails....

I think he just likes to hear them yowl... :lau
