Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Yes, @LittleLakePhil , thank you for your service!! Happy Veterans Day!!
I heard something interesting on the radio this morning, and it got me thinking. Basically, a psychologist was saying that when soldiers used to return from active duty, they had weeks on a boat to talk about stuff - decompress - whatever. Now, they fly home and two hours time are expected to be flipping pancakes with the family, like nothing happened. They're wondering if this might be one of the big causes for the uptick in ptsd. We have a good friend whose son just returned from a tour in Syria - he went from people wanting to kill him around every corner to "Now you're home for a while, go clean your room and run to the store for me..."
Kind of makes sense...
I think so too. Sometimes I think people genuinely feel that returning to "normalcy" will heal wounds, unfortunately, no matter how well intended, it usually doesn't.

Ugh. . I've spent the morning setting up hubby s new smart phone. What a job! Couldn't use mobile transfer app since his old one was a flip phone. Had to manually enter all his phone numbers. Set up Google account for him. . try to arrange stuff where he can figure it out. My brain hurts. And now I get to look forward to showing him how to use it for the next month or so I am sure lol
