Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

So I'm going to do what I should have done last week.... ask for my pond friends' guidance. I took those ducks on a trade, on a total whim. I should have known better, should have taken the money, subtracted the chickens and been richer for it. I didn't do my research, nor did I ask anyone's advice (well, sorta Ravyn, but we know she can't be impartial about ducks, so no blame there!! hahaha)

I made the false assumption that these ducks would be at least partially somewhat tame. Wrong I was. I've now done more reading, and even the place where I assume she acquired the birds from, sells them to be released onto open waters, if you don't have an aviary. So I do feel comfortable that the birds will survive for some time. They might even hang around my area.

So.... I guess I kinda have 4 basic options:
1-Release the other 2 (female woodie, probable male teal) in hopes that they find their friends, or go on to make other friends?
2-Or do I try to acquire more?
3-Or just keep these 2 and try my luck at "semi-taming" them?
4-I could also try taking them to my farm pond and releasing them there.

I don't *want* to clip wings or pinion them.

I feel awful about the whole thing... :( :hugs
I should've asked you impartial questions, researched and given better advice...
I say option 3 as well, you can always do one of the other options later if you decide...

Maybe that's why Live comes before Learn? Live and learn.
Haha!! So true!! In education we always say, "They won't learn unless they're sticky" In other words, unless they have something to attach the info to, it won't stick. That's why it doesn't matter how much research we do before the fact...
My reply to the "sticky" saying is, "too bad sticky is messy." :)
(No comments Pork Pie...I know your mind.)
