Wvduckchick hello! Love your post! I'm a newbie to the site and the duck lake. Any suggestions from the group on how to ward off raccoons? I have a Muscovy hen on a nest on my porch. Can't build anything or fence anything to help her out. Some friend outside this group suggested mothballs to deter the coons, but I would think that would upset the duck as well. Any suggestion would be appreciated. So far I've had to keep feeding both the duck and the raccoons at night to keep the peace.but I'm afraid the chicks will get attacked once they hatch. What have I gotten myself in to? Love the ducks

The only thing I can think of for your situation is either electric line around the ducks, or keep feeding the coons. I have had an occasional coon in my duck run, but as long as the feed is easier, the momma duck would probably scare them off. My momma duck was ferocious! Lol

Anyone else have any ideas???
