Get rid of some boys...

My uncle is supposed to come over some time this week (maybe next) with his extra Roos to butcher (he bought six chicks and five were roosters) and I think we're killing our 3 extras.

Might be an Eastern Hog nose snake.

Pine, fox, milk, rat snake maybe. Not hog nose, they are short and thick.

Good snake...wish I had more around.

The ones you traded for, or yours?

A few of my young OEGBs have just recently started roosting on the rafters of the run. At least they are inside. I can't reach them to get them down.

After reading more, I'm glad I killed that snake. Need to find the parents and rest of its family though. They are constrictors, and while they eat mice and moles, they also raid birds nests of eggs and eat small animals like birds, squirrels and rabbits. Hopefully they stick to the squirrels, mice, moles and rabbits around my place, but I'd just as soon not risk my small chicks, nor my eggs.
