between a year and 2 years...
had a soft soggy crop and dark grayish comb. got the electrolyte water, baytril and valbazen in her. She perked up. gave her some food with intestum (specialty poultry probiotic) mixed in and she ate like a pig. shes perched on the side of her shoe box all nice and calm under a heat lamp inside. looks way better than before. was it ok for me to feed her?

Quote: I have found that the green and yellow can be caused by many things, and in chickens I worry about cancer, which can't be treated. The green could be from various diseases, liver, E. coli, or starvation. The yellow could could be the same, or it can be from dehydration. Much more could be told if you were to give oral fluids now, repeat in 60-90 minutes, then tube food. If still green and yellow after tubing it's not starvation or dehydration.

Metronidazole (Flagyl) is an antibiotic/anti-protozoal. It can be used in poultry to treat blackhead, necrotic enteritis, giardia, trichomoniasis, and other protozoa and/or bacteria sensitive to it. Cheapest way to get it is to buy the tropical fish tablets like Fish Zole or Aqua Zole.

Thanks, Kathy... I remembered it being mentioned several times, but I tend to forget things if they aren't issues I have had, lol... I need to note these down... I get asked about things a lot, but many things I really don't know! :gig

Thank you... :)

If she wants to eat that's probably fine... one should never tube feed unless the bird is warm and properly hydrated, which they sort of explain here (you might really like this link :D ):
