Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Sounds yummy, but I'm stuffed. Unconventional meal for us, since its been kind of an unconventional Christmas... Ribeye steak, rice, mixed veggies, garlic bread. I'll grill out in the snow, but it was weird grilling out for Christmas in 60 degree weather. :D

They've eaten all my winter crop seedling and transplants  :rant :barnie

Merry Christmas! Here's my oldest playing an acoustic guitar instrumental version of "The First Noel."

Beautiful... heard Shade is trying to corrupt you too, lol...

Chrissy *might* have nibbled a bit more food slop, I saw uneven patterns in the bottom... She's still very annoyed that I had to spray her wounds, but I just wish she'd start eating. It's been four days now.

She did, however, stand upright on one web and a wing for a moment to fix the way she was sitting!! Even bigger progress!! :celebrate

:thumbsup

Great news!! You're doing awesome!!

Congratulations Uncle Dan! My dad's birthday is today, too.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Happy birthday to your dad!!

Merry Christmas everyone!

Dan, congats to you & your family.

Banty, I'm glad she's making progress.  :fl   Hope she continues.

:hugs

Your presence is the best present ever, my friend!!! :)

Six dozen pierogis cooked and ready for transport to our daughter's house for this afternoon.  Recalcitrant stove top seems to have 'self healed'.  I shut off the breaker when we went away and just for the heck of it turned it back on yesterday morning.    It was no longer flashing numbers and beeping.  Worked fine today - we'll see.  :idunno   Will sure be nice if we can skip the $90 service call scheduled for Tuesday.

On another note - sometimes the aging process sucks.  My oldest sister is 88 years old.  Her kids have taken away her license, and one nephew and his family have moved in with her.  (Of her 4 boys he's the best one to live with her.)  She's not happy.  We come from relatively strong, stubborn stock and were raised to be independent people.  Maybe one of the reasons this bothers me so is that I can see the possibility of a similar future.  Hopefully I will make my own decisions because I have serious problems with others deciding for me - even out of love.  Not meaning to be a 'debby downer', but it's sort of eating at me today.  We went to her house last night, and it hurt to see her unhappy.

:hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

And ditto what WV and mini said... welcome here too, sour... anytime...

I know exactly where you are coming from.  DH's grandparents lived with us for a while as a transition between home and assisted living.  He had several strokes, she had Alzheimers.  We had to be the ones to take his car keys and sell the car to keep him from driving.  Very independent man and it hurt us to see him hurting from the realization that he was dependent on others.

My dad had a few dependent weeks while on hospice.

My mom is dependent on me to make her financial decisions, which is good because she is horrible with money management.  Problem is there isn't even enough to cover necessities with that big house and acreage.  Anyone want to buy a lovely Mission style home and 10 acres in always sunny Rio Grande Valley?

My uncle just passed away and I am assisting my cousin, who lives up north but is wintering in Arizona, with administering the estate.

Send a dozen or two pierogis my way, please...I miss my grandma's cooking.  Or a recipe would do just as well :)

I had a glass smoothtop range once upon a time.  Hated that thing with a passion.  Love my 1934 Garland gas range.

Merry Christmas!

:hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

Too much loss this year... so sorry, my friend...

73 here!!! :th

They are hard to keep out of anything! Did ya get a rifle or pistol? I'd suggest some birdshot rounds in it. Better chance of getting the quick little devils.

X2!!

The 20 grain w/out gunpowder is what we use for rat shot... great stuff... very quiet and soft pop too...

Rifle. That's an idea, though they aren't scared of me, I can get within 10' of them.

Rifle will be easier that close than a pistol would be, but some kind of scatter shot would really be easy lol!

We have tons of them around here, but they don't bother anything, so I let them be. Dudley would like to get ahold of one though! :D

Dan, if I lived closer I would provide box traps and pay you $20 for every rabbit that you could catch.

Good dog trainers??

Turk's birthday is today too!!!

Really? I must not have looked at FB today. :D
