Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

@casportpony @WVduckchick @RavynFallen or anyone else who might have their ears on:

I am looking for a math sanity check.

Treatment:

Tiamulin 12.5%, dosed per Novartis: The dosage for chickens and turkeys is 25 mg tiamulin/kg bodyweight or 100mls of Denagard 12.5% Oral Solution for 500 kgs of bird. Denagard should be administered continuously in the drinking water at a level of 0.025% (250ppm) for 3-5 days to chickens and 5 days to turkeys.

So...

A level of 0.025% of a 12.5% solution should be:

1 gallon = 3785 ml
.025% of 3785 ml = 0.95 ml

5 gallons = 4.75 ml

is this correct?

is this correct?

You are correct.

Yea, Debs beat me, I found the conversion as 1 gallon = 3785.4 ml, so 5 gallons would only need 4.75 ml?

Oh, but just to be a real double checker, I googled and found this:

Amount: 1 gallon liquid US (gal) in volume
Equals: 3,785.41 milliliters (ml)

??

Sheesh. I entered 1.6 gal into the gal to ml calculator. Thanks! I'm going to go back and correct the original.

Ah, you were just checking to see if we were paying attention!! LOL

I don't think you could overdose them with that, but it could waste a good bit of not-so-cheap medicine.

Denagard is 4ml per gallon for preventative, 8ml per gallon for treatment... I believe that's according to Kathy's calculations and the dosage recommended per Twin City...

I was told a different dosage though by Mark, so...
