Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

LOL Biggest thing I did on a car was change out the water pump on my honda.... But dad taught me the basics... changing tires, changing the oil and filter, And of course the air filter.... and because It was a Corvaire He taught me how to change the fan belt.... :gig got a flat tire when I and my girlfriend were going somewhere. Julie was a looker blond and leggy.... I had already jacked the car up a little.... and was getting ready to loosen the lug nuts when this guy comes zooming up. "Here let me help you..." I gave him the lug wrench... While he changed the tire out he chatted Jule up and got her phone number. I had to put the old tire up... He was "distracted"... After i got home that afternoon my wheel was making an odd noise. I popped the hubcap off... He had put the lug nuts on Backwards :th The bevel centers the hole on the wheel over the screw snugging the wheel down and protecting the lug bolts... The bolts were stripped... Thank goodness when I changed them around the stripped part didnt effect the ability to tighten them down. deb
How exactly does one put lug nuts on backwards without knowing it? Incredible.

the ones above are impossible to get the lug wrench over because of that lip.... I had to search again mine were Like this Older Corviar I suspect. still.... This was in the seventies before technology took over. Like I said he was chatting up Julie and "distracted" deb
I've never changed a tire and I'm trying to figure out how he put them on backwards even if he was distracted. Was it dark?
