Did you all know that Chris's middle name is 'Randy' ?
I'll go back and catch up, but need to let this out first.
What the living F*"&% is wrong with drivers these days?
10 miles from home: clueless driver attempts to leave middle lane of the freeway and exit into a steady stream of traffic, causing 15 or so cars to suddenly jam on the brakes all the way back onto the right lane of the freeway. Fortunately everyone affected was paying attention!
15 miles from home: impatient driver does not want to drop his speed 5 mph for 1/2 mile to get in behind the trucks in the right lane before the exit. So he cuts left, floors it, realizes he is not going to make it, slams on the brakes in the middle lane so the trucks pass him, and makes a two lane exit into Fiat Chrysler HQ.
Lansing area: construction zone, 45 mph. Driver in the left lane does not see that traffic slowed, and plows through several cars. Parts strewn along 1/4 mile of freeway. Did not look survivable for the first one hit.
Flint area: I'm cruising in the left lane, passing slower drivers, and see a red car on the left shoulder facing backwards. Spinouts are reasonably common and we've had a lot of rain so I didn't think too much of it...until I realized that the car was doing about 85 on the inner shoulder headed straight toward me. Quick glance right and moved almost as quickly, then grabbed the phone to dial 911. I just hope that everyone survived that idiot.
A mile from home: Some woman who looked for all the world to be utterly exhausted and unsafe to drive (mouth open, shaking her head at 7 pm) was doing 25-30 in a 45 on a twisty road and could not stay between the lines. No passing the entire 2 mile stretch but some a-hole about 4 cars behind me thought it necessary to try. The kids in the car in the oncoming lane went as far right as they could without crashing. I rolled down the window and pulled alongside the woman at the light to ask if she was okay, but no response.
No, but should have guessed it.![]()
Wow, just wow. Makes ya just want to stay home, huh.
Glad you made it home in one piece. Have a shot or three.![]()
44 oz whisky and Coke is in hand. That follows a shot of Fireball.
A simple 500 mile drive should not have that much drama.
I vote to install a nice new bubble wrap suit on Ravyn.*Glad
