Virtual Private Network. It re-routes my traffic through servers in locations of my choice. Stops viruses and anyone trying to track me down via the net. I don't use it much now, cos I have a proxy DNS service that automatically re-routes my traffic for certain sites, e.g. when I want to watch UK tv, it will use a server in the UK so that I am allowed to watch it. Ditto netflix in the US etc. DW uses it more for torrent downloading her shows (even though she could watch most of 'em on netflix)
