You're joking, right? The day I got my license, at the state legal minimum age to the day, I drove to my Grandma's house 30 miles away. No cell phones, no GPS back then. Poor Grandma would not let me drive home without an escort because she was sure I would get lost.

I'm glad she is okay. Now that her "gift" is gone and she will have to figure out how to get where she needs to go to get a job (bus, bike, rideshare, etc), she will start to learn the value of things and how money requires work. Great life lesson.

Yep. I've done all I can. She has chosen the hard path. I did make her pay me 250 for the car. . and she was supposed to pay another 250 when she got on her feet. Not because I care about money but I wanted her to have something invested of her own so she would take it seriously. Do you all think I should make her pay the other 250 still or just let it go? We can't go get the car to even scrap it. Would cost more to get there than what we would get from it. Gonna let the parents of the boy scrap it for payment to bring her home.

Back from a trip to the coast (Trinidad, Arcata)- where we ran into two other Redding "heat refugee" families we knew! We must have brought the weather back with us because it rained last night!!

Mom called, my brother who was diagnosed with Colon/liver cancer last October, has been given a clean bill of health this morning by his oncologist!
No further surgery and no need for a colostomy!
Part of why I'm having trouble catching up...Can't focus, too excited!

Hi pond peeps! I think I'm finally caught up. I had a great time visiting my friends in Oklahoma. They have a nice in ground pool so we mostly just relaxed drank margaritas and talked. We did go out to eat a few times went to a hibachi grill and had some scallops. Yum!
All was good until Sat night I got a call from my daughter crying hysterically. She is ok but she had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend and decided to take off to go to an ex boyfriends house over 5 hours from home. Has been lying to me about where she is for two weeks. Left Sat morning to come home and wrecked her car

Oh boy. Sure glad she's okay!
