Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Dear Pondies,

Don't be alarmed if I'm absent for a while. Today I've been able to eat 4 bites of applesauce for breakfast & about the same amount of mashed taters for lunch. I feel completely exhausted/drained. I may spend the next 2 days in bed just reading, resting & watching some TV. Ya'll take care! :hugs:hugs:hugs

Much love,

Debs

:hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs

Just cuz most of us haven't met the others *in person* makes them no less *real people*... everyone here is real... and truly themselves... makes a big difference...
Ya'll still affect every day life... across the world even... ;)
:hugs

This principle is the whole reason I crossed an ocean and a continent this summer--so many people (my husband included, which makes his encouraging me to go even more wonderful than it was) don't "get" how your best friend can be someone you may never, ever actually get to physically see (though sometime it's nice to be proven wrong.) Heck, I'll even modify what my friend spimcoot said: "[BYC] names are 'real names'. Just as real as the names your parents gave you." (Of course, I had to point out that "real name" is much faster to say than "the-name-your-parents-gave-you"...) (And yes, I did know most of my friends' nonh2g2 names, and referred to most of them by those--spim just happened to be one of five men with the same name I was seeing those 2 and a half weeks

It's good to hang out with you guys. Even if I don't have a lot to say.

Yep!

That's kinda like me. I read and read and finally throw a snippet in here and there.

Double yep!

And those last 2 quotes provide a fine segue...

Those of us that have been together for years now may remember when a certain red-furred redneck (I miss that so-and-so...) complained that I said more in introducing myself to Oz than I had in our thread (Ozexpat, not abbevilleoz, who I always call abbe anyway). Well, guess what popped up in my FB memories today? https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...s-wrong-no-one.978237/page-2179#post-15835409 (Fair warning--don't click unless/until you have time to read a wall-o'-text

:clap
I hear from our redneck friend on occasion. Still about the same, busy as all get out.

Well, that made for a trip down memory lane... I miss OMC... :hit

And somebody still owes me eggs!!

Ah, well... :p

I think i know who owes you eggs, but I'm not sure why you'd want them, other than the principle of the thing. :lau
