Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Yes, I do have to do 15 hours a year for my professional license.

This is, however, sewing class. I started a few years ago with this lady, and while there's not much she can teach me anymore (and I often teach her), it's fun, it gets me out of the house, and we're stitching some cool things.

We have been making a "postage stamp" quilt which is 1 inch finished squares. Not sure any of you are familiar with nintendo NES, but we are making this:

Tolype Velleda - it's a moth :)

I knew you'd know! :highfive:
i figured some kind of moth, we have seen some very pretty moths there. Large, bright orange, almost butterfly looking.

I fully agree. I think the people they're "protesting" for would be much better served by these people staying on their feet and going into the communities to whom they are trying to draw attention and working with the people. Maybe donate to a job service program, but more importantly, spend time rather than just throwing money at an organization. Help clean up neighborhoods, serve in a soup kitchen, work with at-risk youth. And not just once as a publicity stunt. Go in as a regular guy, and help. This would be so much more effective than disrespecting the flag and the veterans who have fought for their right to do so. (Getting off my soapbox now...)

I'm not even allowed to grow it. When DH was growing up, his mother would grow them to the size of a toddler, then boil them. That's the only way it was prepared.

I think they've brought enough attention to the original reason, so it's time they stand back up!

Ah, you definitely fit at the Pond!! :lau

x2

Negative. I finally have enough staff that I am not at risk for having to staff and I can wear normal human being clothes and not scrubs, tennis shoes, no makeup or jewelry.
Today was the first day of spiffed up. Heading off to class tonight still spiffed (not stiffed) up.

Was there doubt? Pretty sure my peacock pillow should have tipped you off.

The pillow clinched it for me :lau
