as to the egg laying....

NONE of my jillion chickens are currently laying.



I have a few pullets in the big coop, with light. And I keep checking...they are getting feed and water.

Don't get it. Doesn't look like there is an egg eater... dunno...have to figure this out...because ZERO eggs is a bit much... (or little).

I expect the bantams to lay nothing. ..cute little buggers... they get zero light...so give zero eggs..... but one is a 1 year old white leghorn....shouldn't she lay? ??

I would think it'd be dangerous for molt to happen this time of year in your neck of the woods. Do they molt earlier there, or are they just featherless and cold?

I'm getting about 6-8 eggs from 40+ layers... the Bielefelders are the biggest offenders. They're supposed to be the #1 doomsday chicken, but I've gotten one egg in three weeks - and they're not light on the feed.

Y'all need to send your flocks here for the winter months - no breaks in laying all year round

The one group of girls for which I don't begrudge a slow down are my little production "goldens". I'm hoping a much deserved break will help them have fewer issues as they age.

Thats the kicker here - productive lives are only up to about 2 years old (for non-broody birds)
