Well yea but sand gets into everything and they all greasy too which by the way makes the sand harder to deal with .

I got one of the first canon dslr cameras on the market. It cost me about $1600 at the time and likely worth $1.6 today

We'd all like a longer lens But all reputable brand DSLR should be able to take standard lenses - gotta have a steady hand for them big 'uns unless ya whop the shuttter speed up, in my limited experience.

YEp... the one I got has a 50/80 lense... I am used to just a 50 with an extra tlephoto... The DSLRs have ISO equivalents of 100-2500 so good choices for alsorts of light and shutter speeds.

So far So good.
