Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I'm glad it helped! The kit lens that comes with it isn't very long range, only 55 mm, but you can buy some really nice zoom lenses for it. I bought one that's 55 mm to 200 mm, which is working well, and I'm looking at getting one that's up to 300 mm for some really long range wildlife shots. Maybe with my tax return, lol.
I'm just going to pay notes on it . One thing I have learned they are like computers Get what you like the first go around . Just trying to decide which way to go. DW has a birthday next week and it will be after that but soon .

We'd all like a longer lens ;) But all reputable brand DSLR should be able to take standard lenses - gotta have a steady hand for them big 'uns unless ya whop the shuttter speed up, in my limited experience.
Tripod and they have to be well made . A good tripod will cost almost as much as the camera but it's worth it if you want good pictures . Or it was that way when shooting film . High speed digital might not be so much so .

Nice flock dan :thumbsup

She and I just had a minor interaction on the "What Breed are They" thread. Next post I will reiterate to her that 'true intelligence is knowing your limitations'. Last time I suggested that, she asked if I was calling her stupid. Who, me ?
YOur answer should be "So... do you know your limitiations?... No...? I rest my case..."
