Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

And maybe having enough sense to stay home when it is really nasty?
Oh heck no....I love driving in snowstorms.
We drove Escanaba last week......a good hour or so drive in blizzard conditions to go out to lunch and grocery shopping.
I can honestly say I'm great at that kinda driving..... But that's from driving to work (35 miles one way) for 35 years no matter what the weather was.... They didn't let me stay home cuz the roads were closed..... No I can say I never missed a day because of bad weather..... Can't say the same about good weather...:gig

Cold here, too, but no snow to speak of. I hope whatever sent you on a rant gets resolved. Have a good weekend!
I had to plow again today....... We only got another 4" last night....I almost didn't plow.
But we are getting ready to plunge into a deep freeze for a few days so I doubt it will snow..... Too cold. So I cleaned up...... After years of having a crappy plow truck the new one I put together is like a Cadillac. Even though it's best up old truck it's nice inside...... Comfy seats.... Good heat. Everything works.
My neighbor came out while I was plowing to ask if I could help him with his truck (it's down at camp dead about 20 miles away)..... Anyhow he looked in my truck and said it looked really nice to plow with.....
Yeah it is. Compared to my old truck..... No brakes..... No wipers..... No radio...... Clutch barely worked. Tires leaked air..... Had to open the hood to set the choke.... Pour gas down the carb ..... Heat the starter.... Open headers........ But the heat worked good I tell ya what......eh.......

I've been in the ditch ( or substitute the word snowbank) so many times in my life I couldn't even count. Just part of living in big snow country. Although I'm in the ditch a lot less these years. ... Chalk it up to age and experience.......

This time... I remembered to drive SLOWLY. Hoping to not fall into a ditch this year.

Worst stuck I think I've ever been required the tow truck to chain the front of his truck to a tree........

 Had that at least twice.... at least

Good heat. Everything works.

One year I had to plow without any defrost. :th That bites.

I should mention. .. maybe 2 or 3 years back..... I hired a guy to dig out my ditches. .. make them big and deep again. ... I was hoping some quality ditch work would keep the driveways from turning into swallowing soupy quicksand in the spring/break-up.

well..... ever since.... way more difficult to yank out the plow when I roll in.

Yeah.... money well spent :he

I can relate....
...... Oh to add to that the plow frame was bent...... So it plowed for chit.......

Oh now I can't top that........:gig

Yep figured her for a meat eater .;)
She was a work of art for shure.... Husband number two beat her threatedned to kill her and her Mule if she left him.... So she complied and layed low. She had an old camper that had Gas lighting... Four wheel drive... and an OLLLD two horse single axel trailer. One day he went on a business trip...

She loaded enough feed to last her a month or two in the trailer The Mule in packed the Camper Cleaned out all the Accounts... Community property here in CA. And headed to the Sierra Nevadas.... She didn't stop till the road ended then she didn't stop till she got to a mountain meadow.

Set up camp and Shes a pro at it. She hobbled the mule and turned him out in the meadow. When she needed supplies she would Ride down to a little grocery in a local town.... She stayed there for six months through the winter....

One day the park rangers stumbled across her... "How in the Hell did you get up here lady" She didnt get a fine but was asked to leave. She loaded back up and left the mountains not stopping till she made it to San Diego, her home town.

Wound up being care giver to her father who Beat her and her mother.... But it was a place to live no rent... shes a hero in some ways...
