Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

1st multi-colored greyhounds I've seen. They are greyhounds, yes?
they come in all colors and coat varieties. Though long hair to them is just a frizzle on the tail and ears.... I have seen wire haired as weel.

Thats off the track racing dogs.... Dont know what the breed standard is. but I do know that Greyhounds live till they are twelve to fourteen and hip displaysia is VERY uncommon.

They are bred to run those who cant run are culled.... color and coat have no consequence...

Checking them out now. They look like they are pretty big & have feathered ears. Poor things look half starved.
Vets used to tell me that my dogs were underweight, all because some chart said dogs of a particular breed & height should weigh X pounds. I couldn't get through to them that my dogs were athletes and in working condition. Besides that, they were all on self-feeders; they ate what they needed when they needed. I finally started using a vet who was also a field trialer, and life was a whole lot better. He also understood that a man feeding multiple kennels of dogs, sometimes with two dogs per kennel, couldn't afford to be carrying a dog to the vet every time he had an off day.

Afternoon Pondites!
Hope you caught lots Phil

congrats on the hatch(s) FMF! Loved the pics

Sorry to hear the radiation has hit you Perchie :hugs Take it easy and baby yourself a bit, you've earned it.
loved the video!!! That is exactly what my pup did the other day when the kitty tried to "share" her supper. :lau
You're also correct, as always, about the greyhounds. One correction tho, at least in our state. I think there is only one greyhound track left here but there used to be several. Anyway, here it's illegal to "cull" greyhounds for other than medical reasons. The tracks were required by law to operate an adoption center right at the track for dogs for whatever reason were not wanted anymore by the owners/trainers. They also had to rehabilitate the dogs. Introduce them to "normal" life. What a house is, a couch, manners training, etc. Went to the track a couple times during my short stint of living near Milwaukee. Spent most of my time in the adoption center checking out the gorgeous animals.

Hey Al, how's Mocha doin'? Any kids yet? (pics of course)

its like compairng fit horses to trail horses.... Fit horses are nothing but muscle rib show yet there is muscle covering their ribcage. They have a lot of engergy and a bright look to their eye....

Though Fit draft horses have a tucked up tummy but BIGASS haunches shoulers and neck.... Different kinds of muscle.... Slow Twitch in drafts and Fast twitch in Race horses....
