Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Well... sometimes I only wear a shirt and socks.

But when the kids can see me... yeah, I wear pajama bottoms.
My dad used to come sauntering in the living room with only his boxers on.... Asking mom if she had washed his clothes.. When she would fuss at him for coming in almost buck nekkid he would pose like Arnold .... Only problem was he had lopover disease and he could only hold the pose a few seconds.

We got a glorious inch of rain last night. My farmer is in a much better mood this morning.

I’m sitting here in my grandma’s house watching her belongings go out the door. We’re having an estate sale/open house today. It makes me a little sad, but what else are we going to do with it? After she died, we found a note from Grandma that said, “Remember - when cleaning out my house, a big dumpster will be handy. I don’t need this stuff anymore!” :)

This became our responsibility after my mother in law died. I thought I could deal with it, but as the auctioneer was selling 'memories' it tore me up. I was still drinking then so I went and got drunk.

I wish i had been there when they cleaned out Grandmas house. At least i have her old copper double boiler pot with a hole in it to remember her by.

I have an old aluminum pan that my mother in law always made her chicken paprikas in.

Every time I come to the house I find a little thing to take home. I figure DH won’t notice it as much that way...;)
When i used to visit her, she had some little horse figures she let me play with. I wish i got them. At least i have the wedding quilt she made for Mom and Dad. She had a lovely curio cabinet with curved glass. I have always loved those. She had a velvet couch, an old wooden wall phone, and an ancient organ out on the porch. Plus one of those big porcelain bath tubs

I have remembrance items on top of my kitchen cabinets from mine and hubby's folks and GPs. My dad's pool stick and a 9-ball, and his engraved silver chalk block. A porcelain strawberry and a rolling pin of my grandma's. Hubby's dad's hard-hat from his early years, etc.

I dont have any momentoes from grandparents. They passed long before my time. I would have loved my step-grandads 410 but it went to a blood grandson of his and was pawned shortly after. No one knew before it was too late to get it back.:hmm

I have Dad's telegraph key from back in the day. And Mom's and Grandmas sewing machines. 2 of Mom's , one from the 50's and a modern Bernina. I need to get a little table to set that up on.

I have my mothers Bernina too! Love that machine. In the kitchen is a large mason jar of hers, filled with buttons. She always cut the buttons off of anything before discarding. I have buttons everywhere. I don't think I'll ever have to buy another button in my lifetime. :D

@BYC910, Glad that you stopped by. Dealing with doctors/illness flat out sucks. Medicine is not an exact science. Went through it with my Mom - in and out of the hospital - misdiagnose after misdiagnose until she self diagnosed. Going through it now with grand daughter who has been moved from ICU to regular room back to ICU and now to biological isolation. :barnie for you and her both. Praying for a positive resolution.
Praying right along with you!

:fl ya get it worked out!

So sorry Phil..:hugs

Do i need to round up the gals and head your way?:D

:celebrate:wee :clap
