Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

180 posts behind, exhausted from a week at Camp cooking for 55 campers and about a dozen staff. Still have some laundry to do, and need to get to bed. Can someone catch me up? Anything exciting happening on the Pond? I am on my way back to Camp tomorrow. We have 73 kids registered, 9 counselors and 10 other staff that I know of. Gonna be a busy week in the kitchen!

Went out to close up the chickens tonight. DH had been leaving the pop door open and just closing the run. As I drove up to the coop (it was raining), I saw something brown running under the coop. Could have been a rat, but my first thought was mink. I only saw it for a second. I hope it's not a mink... I closed the pop door tonight.
Wow!!! That's a lot of food! How many weeks do you do kitchen duty?
Way "back in the day" I was a camp counselor at a camp that catered to the children of elite SoCal families. One of the sections of the camp program (among other more normal camp pursuits like horseback riding and kayaking), was musical theater... I was pretty much chained to the piano the entire time.

Oh I hope not.... My friend who bought my ducklings has them in a old dog pen.... It's actually really pretty nice. But it's only surrounded by chain link fence.
I told him he needs to at a minimum put some hardware cloth around it...... For the smaller minsm and ermine that might want to get in.

Okay, any of you math types, when your brains are sufficiently caffeinated, I have a question for you.
I'm going to build a hoop coop to replace the tractor, which I don't like due to the lack of head room. I'll be using 14' cattle panels. How far apart will the ends of the panels need to be, at ground level, for 6' of head room?
I'm sure there's a formula for that, but I have no idea what it is, considering Math & I weren't on the friendliest of terms 56 years ago.
Thanks

Final chick tally here: Out of 8 eggs, 3 clear, 3 quit, 2 hatched & healthy. Mama's quit setting & is busy showing them their world. She has them out on the ground for the first time; didn't see how she got them the 3' to the ground, but hope I'm here to see how she gets them back in. Adult birds have acknowledged their presence, but nothing more. Little ones been through the fence a few times already, but Mama's been able to call them back. Everything's looking peachy ATM.

There’s a formula for that? What are you using for the supports? I figure you can just place the ends where you want them and bend up and over.
But if your supports are already a specific length, then I could see there being a formula to get the height you want.
