Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

morning Ponders! (It's still morning, right?)
Up since 4 am making breakfast and kicking the deer hunters out of bed. Opening day of gun deer season here in frozen tozen land. Wow. Don't know how many more of these this old gal has in her. All day yesterday busy making apple pies, deer camp cookies and a big pot of clam chowder for when the guys started rolling in. Today it's leftover chowder and fresh biscuits for lunch and a big pot of chili for supper. Oh, and during dessert, the oldest stepson drops the hint "my favorite pie is apple, oh and YOUR pumpkin pie, I don't like anybody else's". Real subtle, David, real subtle,. Ok so I guess I'll break down and work one into my schedule. No small feat since nothing canned or prefab in my pies. My "filling" for pumpkin pie is still sitting in front of the fireplace acting as a decoration until needed. Ok, I had better grab a bit to eat and another cuppa before I start camp cook duty round two.

Now you know you love it! :)
Hope they connect with at least one :fl I've seen pictures of several of the Buffalo & Door County bucks taken by son's in-laws & friends; all trophies & something to be proud of.

So I worked late today trying to get inventory straight. . finally got home and ended up helping elderly neighbor lady rake leaves. Put some in the duck pen. . they love it so much View attachment 1592004then I had to clean dog poop since the snow finally thawed and I stepped in it :sick
Took care of the ducks and got them put up.
It was about 6 o'clock by then. . and my silly arse decided to start painting with the primer upstairs.
That stuff was horrible! I'll never buy it again. It was thin and flung everywhere!
I just finished up. . I'm speckled from head to toe in white primer.
And the kicker is I don't think I've told y'all here. .
My hot water heater is going out. . so it's been 5 minute showers all week before it starts getting cold :barnie
I'm never going to get this paint out of my hair in 5 minutes :barnie

I was gonna say what Cap said, hopefully it’s just an element that can be replaced?

I am very annoyed. Since I sold my rabbits, I was also selling the hutch I built them. I posted it around and got a bite on Facebook.

The girl who messaged me told me she was just getting into rabbits and was in high school so she didn't have a huge budget, etc, and so being nice I decided to knock $20 off the price for her. She asked for extra pictures, which was no problem, I got those taken for her and it all seemed good. She asked if I could hold the hutch until this weekend, since that's when she would be paid and also when she would be able to pick it up, so I said yes, that's fine, but it's gonna have to be Friday or Saturday since I'm out of state Sunday.

So Thursday rolls around, and I message her asking what time Friday or Saturday (today) she wants to come get it. She says that her and her mother, who was going to come with her to pick it up, are busy with things both Friday and Saturday, and can they come Sunday? I reiterate that I'm out of state Sunday, and furthermore I'm at a poultry show, which I wanted to bring the money from the hutch sale to so I can buy some birds...

So she talks to her mom and figures that maybe they can come out Friday afternoon. Okay, good. Afternoon comes around, she asks for my address, I give it to her, and then...nothing. A while later she sends me a message saying sorry, they got caught up and couldn't make it today, but her mom would stop by and grab it today.

So I say okay, what time? And she says early in the morning on her way to doing something in another town. I don't do early in the morning. I work a swing shift, I'm not up. So I tell her I'm not available in the morning, but maybe my father would be willing to help with this, I can check, what time would her mother be coming?

And out of nowhere she sends a message saying "What is it made of?"

Since she had already seen the pictures I took for her, I was confused and wondered if she sent that message to me but it was meant for someone else, so I just responded "The hutch? It's wood with a wire floor."

And suddenly, this was a problem, because she wanted it for an indoor cage, and she thought the inside area had a wooden floor (but apparently the rest being wire would be fine indoors?) and now it's not going to work. I told her that I have a piece of plastic I use to put down in the indoor area to make the floor solid when needed, but yeah, as stated in the ad and as IN ALL THE PICTURES the floor was wire. I also said it could be used indoors if you wanted to buy a tray to put under the floor, but it was indeed an outdoor hutch. Shocking since all the pictures of it where taken outside, I know.

But, you know, those trays are "expensive" (they're $20 at TSC) and she just doesn't think it's going to work.

So to recap, I knocked the price down, took a bunch of pictures showing just about every angle of the hutch, held it for a week, and now suddenly it just won't work for what they need it for and they won't be buying it. :barnie :he

After a couple of those, I mark everything “no holds” now. I may still do it, but if someone is ducking me around, I move on.

Had this one gal posting all over every local farm group looking for seramas. We pm’d a little until I figured she was just too flaky for me. I stopped replying. Just not worth the headache.

Just had what appeared to be a decent buck & doe come through the woods, heading toward one of the feeders. Guess I'll go camp in the blind for a while to see if any others come in....scouting for next week when son will be here...can hardly wait. Never had much of a chance to hunt together when he was still around here; trying to make up for it while I can.

Sounds like a bunch of hard work, but also making some great memories. I’d love to be there!

Sleep well Lisa!

Drove a couple hours each way to pick up GD, and she slept all the way home, so I have a feeling she will be up for a while. :p
:lau
Did she ever crash and sleep? :fl
Cutie!!:love
Does your school take all of Thanksgiving week off? For me, one does... and one doesn't. At least I'll have Wed. thru Fri off though. (Okay, I digress now), but I think I told you one of my college classes us full of second language learners (mostly south American soccer players). Anyway, one of them thought "though" meant "dude" because we throw it on the ends of sentences so much. I think he's clear on it now, but every time I use it as a subordinate conjunction during a lecture, he says something like, "You, too, dude." Gotta lIove a Brazilian with a sense of humor. :)
Oh how funny! :lau

Cold here, too. All the way down to 44. Eat your heart out. May have to start wearing long pants again before long.

Its 44 up here now.. 49 in town..:(
But... its up to 59 inside! Not toooo bad..:lau
I love sleeping when the night's cool like it is now. Crawl in between the fuzzy sheets & 14 lb. of blankets & forget how cold it is outside. Usually have a window cracked all the time for some fresh air.

We finished watching Simba on video, she finally wanted to watch something in bed. She only woke me a couple times all night (or my normal wake ups? Lol) She fights in her sleep though. And turns sideways. :D
