Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I'm coming in late but, where do folks get grasshoppers out of season? Haven't seen any since September. We get some pretty low temps here.
There are places that sell bugs in bulk online. Check it out. I used to buy a lot of crickets for my 4 pairs of Chameleons.

No idea what's in it; just got it Monday. They didn't volunteer & I didn't know to ask. Supposed to hit high 50's in a couple days. Is it likely to start o.k. then?
Don't know about the glow plugs, either. Three lights on the dash, 2 red & 1 yellow, & they all glow when the switch is on; haven't noticed them ever change. I was expecting the yellow one to change to another color when the glow plugs warmed up. I've never had trouble starting it before now.
If it's got summer blend fuel you can have issues cold starting..... But I'm not a diesel guy so I'm not sure at what temp that becomes an issue. But once that fuel starts jelling up..... Your in trouble. But I'm not sure how cold that starts to happen.
They do make some additives you can put in the fuel....I think it's called diesel 911 or something like that.
But I'd also add some fresh fuel..... The stations have all converted to winter blend now I would assume.

Full moon.
I saw a few does last night.
I saw a what I believe was a big buck sneaking along the tree line. But it was too dark and too far away for the little.357 I'm shooting.
At that point all I could see was a big grey shadow over his head..... He moved almost like a ghost as he just walked through with out stepping into full view.....

When they got married, each couple declared that they would like to establish their own Christmas traditions. Can't argue witht that. The weekend chosen is the only one that everyone could get together. So, Dec. 8 is our Christmas. At least they all want to get together - that's something.
Works for me......:thumbsup

Our holidays are always celebrated on off days.. big families so it can be difficult to get everyone together on the exact day.. but its nice to be able to see everyone no matter the day..:love
… Hopefully she'll eat a bunch of rats & not eat anybodys pets before then. :fl

:frow Been off for a bit, but back now...

Tom and Tim got back with Patty (Tom's mom), her stuff, and the rest of our stuff last Sunday. We were all going to go to our church's Thanksgiving dinner that day, but I ended up staying home 'cause I'd seriously underestimated the amount of time it would take to prep and prime the wood paneling in our bedroom (all those :duc grooves), so I'd gone to bed about 6 am and got up again at 9:30... I'd signed up to take food, as had Faith, so we delivered, but I came back home to finish painting. Tom and I did get to sleep in our room that night, though! I'd been sleeping in the living room for a few nights. For our own Thanksgiving, I'd declared that I didn't want to deal with the full feast (mainly due to the pre-prep for stuffing and all the last minute potato mashing, gravy mixing, and carving (why, no, I don't let people help--it's my kitchen:gig)), so it was agreed that whatever was fine. So I got ham and all our regular fixings--I have a great crockpot au gratin potato recipe, and an equally great crockpot brussels sprout recipe (another reason not to do turkey and all the fixings--I'm short a crockpot now). Then Tom tells me we've been invited to another church's Thanksgiving, on the day. No need for :barnie, though--Tom's birthday was the day before Thanksgiving this year, so we had our leftover-providing feast on Wednesday, then turkey on Thursday. And it's just as well--Wednesday evening, the germ that kept Grace out of school on Tuesday (she actually had a fever) snuck around all the Airborne Id been drinking and bit hard. Managed to drive to and from the church (needed 2 vehicles--everything we have that isn't a major climb to get into is a 5-seater, and we're now 6) but energy ran out very shortly after. And poor Faith ended up losing all of her turkey and trimmings just as we pulled into the driveway. She did manage to get none inside the car, though. So we've been a pretty pathetic group this weekend--the only one not sick is Patty.

Did some online shopping Thursday night and Friday, but no Christmas gifts (well, except for the gift from Tim to Faith, but that's on his card)--thermal underwear for the girls, as the adults are all covered, winter coats for Faith and I, as the first coat we got at Goodwill is shedding plastic all over (it's good enough to wear around the property, but not good enough to donate) and the second is just a bit garish (good enough shape to donate, though), laptop for Tom, as he's giving his Chromebook to Patty, a TV and microwave for Patty's new apartment (next Friday:celebrate) that she doesn't know about, a desktop computer and monitor for Faith, that she's paying half for now and paying the rest back to us as she earns money, and so forth. Last night, I slept 16 hours, so I'm feeling better, though I still have no energy.
Good heavens.. :th
Im glad you all made it through the chaos and crud and you some serious sleep! :hugs

Good morning Pond :frow
We had a great time! Ate too much, got home late, slipped into a food coma! Successful day! :lau
