Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Good luck hunting, you guys. I’ll just have to watch out the window from the house.

Good looking rooster Dan. Pretty color, Wide chest!

Good morning. I guess the muck is frozen. It’s dang cold here this morning. Brrrrrrrrrr
I should have been watchig out the window myself; I wouldn't be nearly as tired.
Dropped a small doe this morning that we discovered had been shot earlier & was infected, so we discarded her. Went the rest of the day w/o seeing anything else 'til shortly before dark. Son texts me, "Big buck below". I'm looking all over & don't see a thing, then I spot movement; the rack. Almost head shot him when he gave me the chance, but I didn't want to mess up the rack for a european mount. He gave me a shot in front of the right shoulder, so I took it. He jumped up & took off top speed. Ran right past Keith (DS) so fast he couldn't get him in the scope. Light was fading, but we managed to find small blood spots every 4-5 feet, then there got to be more, 'til there got to be a LOT more, & we found him piled up under a bush. 2-3 year old, maybe 200# live weight, 8 pt. Then we had to drag him, guts & all, back onto my place & up the hill far enough to reach him with a cable/rope combination hooked to Keith's trailer ball. I have three 4WD vehicles here & couldn't risk getting any of them hung up halfway up a muddy hill. Good thing Keith's here for the season; I may have wound up in a heap if I'd tried to get it done alone. On 2nd thought, I would't even have shot a deer that close to dark if I didn't have help.

Pictures?

we are waiting for rain to come tonight... about half inch all total...

So if one foot of snow equals approximately one inch of rain... .5 inches of snow would be how many fractions of an inch of water?:
No idea... guess depends on how fluffy it is? :lau
