No That was the strange thing Also. I didn't see any blood or anything. It was dirty like maybe the dogs rolled it around after it died? All I can guess is maybe it was just migrating and was old and tired and just died. It's been in the 20s at night lately.

ELF.....extreme low frequency..... Submarine antenna.... It was a large telephone pole type antenna ran from Michigamee to Clam lake Wisconsin. So it was a long pole line.

They hang around McDonald's!!!!....Our closest lake is about 24 miles away. But we do have lots of ponds around. Hubby says they hang out at the irrigation ponds with the geese

Couldn't figure out what was going on at the wild bird feeder. I would fill it up with sunflower seeds and of course it was getting visited pretty heavily with our unusually cold (for this time of year) weather, but I would check it when I went out at dark to lock the chooks in and it would still be about half full. First light in the morning I look out and it's empty!
A cute pair of flying squirrels! Little stinkers, should have known. I had the same problem on a different feeder several years ago. There is so much seed disappearing they are either filling an entire hollow tree or there are more then just these two bandits.Last time I found a pair had taken over one of our bird houses and had it stuffed full of chicken feathers and overflowing with seeds

Kind miss Dave .... He would be out there 3a.m. in his BVDs on his back deck blasting raccoons off his bird feeder.... Usually half in the bag.I didn't know there was anywhere that seagulls weren't common..... They're a pest here along with Canada Geese.
Years ago I remember they was a ton of them on my neighbors roof him out there drunk blasting them with a shotgun.
Don't think he did his roof any good....
