Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

I still do a lot of cutting with a bow saw and a cutting rack.
Screw that! That's too much like work! I just got home from cutting, splitting, & loading wood in 3 trucks & a trailer. Actually, most of what I did was splitting; I was under orders not to do any heavy lifting, for fear of tearing the 6 stitches that were put in my upper arm yesterday after the removal of a melanoma.

Definitely no bow sawing for you then.
I try not to take down the large diameter grown trees unless necessary.
I try to cut out the saplings at around 3 inch diameter max. This means I don't have to split and they dry quickly. It takes at least two years for the evergreen oak here to dry to 15% moisture content. It burns oaky after a year but a lot of energy is still going into drying the wood instead of heating the stove.

Did they get it all?

(busy giving his Lilly leaf a clean)

About time! I cant believe you left with all that rooster goo from your shoe on there. Good thing your lilly pad is on the other side of the pond. ;) (See what I did there?) :p
