Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Young Tackle is a bit more mobile today. She's a long way from fit, but she stands and hobbles from A to B steadying herself with her wings. It's very hard to watch.
She's been calling for Cillin (her rooster) a lot more and he's been round and given her the imprint inspection, (head right beside Tackle's head and perfectly still for maybe 20 seconds).
Tackle has decided the best resting place and safest spot is under my feet underneath the computer desk.:loveShe sort of hobbles around under there with occasional ventures a couple of feet away and back. I had to stop her sister Mel from having a few bully pecks; they've never got on.
I think Gloria the vet is back tomorrow and hopefully I can get her to have a look at Tackle early evening.
Hi Shadrach, I know we haven't been formally introduced, but I'd be interested to hear more symptoms your girl is experiencing. I'm definitely not the total chicken guru, but have had some interesting challenges with my birds over the years (some more 'interesting' than others, thanks birds). If you're interested in striking up a conversation, let me know.

Exactly! The only times I've been to movies in theaters have been social occasions - which makes almost no sense since you can't exactly be social during a movie! :idunno
I don't pay attention to the financial health of theater chains, but I'd almost bet the farm that their revenues have tanked since the advent & subsequent popularity of big screen tv.

Which is probably why they continue to enhance the 'experience' - 3-D, XD, comfy seats, and trying to eliminate the distraction by fellow viewers (they have these partitions between rows now, so you can't see any of the heads of the people in front of you, only side to side).

Things are good thanks....She's growin like a weed.. :D
What's your bird population up to? Still have your geese?
I've been gradually downsizing. No more ACs :( and looking to get rid of legbars too. I really like the Swedish Flowers. I'm leaning towards more social birds who are also good layers.

Still have the geese and ducks. I've gotten the numbers down with the chickens and sold the turkeys.
I take you didnt really want to be down to no ACs?
The SF are really nice birds.. Ive not had them but I do like them!

It was a heartbreaking decision to stop doing ACs. I just don't have the time or $ to keep working on them, and with so many breeds in the yard that are easier, I just couldn't justify keeping them. (Although i loved their little personalities!) Legbars, on the other hand, are just flighty and their egg color is really hard to keep totally blue - so they're much easier to part with.
