Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Back from the doc... 5 new meds for the kid....

They kept staring at his oxygen numbers. After giving him an albuterol nebulizer treatment he was right at the cutoff for needing to go to the hospital and being put on oxygen.

Turns out it wasn't just because he mowed and swept the shop without his respirator on.... oh no... . He also got the flu. :th so one of the meds is tamaflu.

That kid!! :barnie
Oh no! Poor kid! Glad you got him seen and on some meds.. hope he feeling a little better today..:fl
I just got my bandages off at the doctors today.
When I was there they told me they saw no reason for me to do physical therapy.
She paraded me in front of the surgeon.
He said.... Yeah that's the guy who got up right after surgery went to the bathroom and put pants on... And laughed.
Yeah things are good.....I got called into the shop today. Spent 6 hours working on a junk BMW no one else wanted to look at.
What upset me is when it was done they didn't even offer me gas money..... But what ever. Might be a little harder to get me there next time.
I told the wife that's all I really wanted.... Just a few bucks to cover my gas....I mean they charged out $100 an hour..... We have a good relationship but it's still nice to have them offer.....
:celebrate No PT! :highfive:
Everybody else already said what i thinking as far as "the shop" goes.. X2 on all of it!
All of us :old
:woot:highfive:
A rude awakening here this morning. .

Thanks Chicki, Im need all the prayers I can get .... seems several summer outfits shrunk over winter..
Well,,,,,, it's off to the clinic, whoopee. Seems the stress of the surgery has caused a shingles outbreak, again, sigh :th
Yep, had the shingles vaccine after the first outbreak and again after the second. Vaccine doesn't work for me. For those unaware, the shingles vaccine does not always prevent an outbreak but it will help to make any subsequent outbreaks milder. Oh, and yes, some can, and will, get shingles more than once. uncommon, but it happens. See? Always knew I was "special". Just not the definition I was hoping for :hmm Since this will be my 4th round, I'm fairly comfortable that is at least one of my problems. (The physical stress from the surgery most likely triggered it this time) I'm not sure the bumpy itchy happening around my pokey holes on my stomach may or may not be the same. I really don't care as long as they can give me something that will control the itching!!:barnie Later fellow croakers
Oh no.. Im sorry.. Hope you're feeling better this evening...:fl:hugs

I really don't know how you do it :hugs With your IQ, education and experience you could have literally went to who knows where but you chose to even put your own health issues aside and care for your family. You are my hero.

@chickisoup, :hugs Hope by the time you read this that you are no longer itching.
Thanks Sour :D Not quite... explanation to come.

That is terrible!!! :hugs
Thank you Al :love hugs always appreciated. If this is the only bad thing from the surgery I'm still way ahead.

chicki did you have the new, improved shingrix(shingles) shot) supposed to be 89% effective. Have to have two shots within a certain period.
My brother had shingles twice but, he is diabetic and other established health problems so who knows. He has since had both shingrix as have I.
Nope. Had the old one twice tho. Haven't had a recurrence since I went into full remission from the Leukemia, until now. The new vaccine was brought up. Possibly after I'm finished with the latest treatment.

My mother has permanent nerve damage from her shingles. I hear the key is to get the antibiotics IMMEDIATELY & take them religiously (neither of which my mother did.)

I cant believe how squeezed into my normal clothes I am. I'm trying to behave, but today I had two pita breads with avocado & I'm pretty sure I exceed my caloric intake for the day. :he
Fortunately first time I had a VERY aggressive round of treatment that I took seriously and had no lasting effects but the bad news was that the worst of the pain, crazy white cell counts etc. at the time was not actually caused by the shingles but by leukemia which wasn't diagnosed until many months later.
Subsequent bouts (which after giving some thought I realized that this is #5) have all been caught and treated right away since I know what to look for. I have never had a bad round since and each one is milder.
I know all too well how blessed I've been with this. I have a friend (long story short) went undiagnosed too long and now lives with such crippling permanent pain in her spine that she has a morphine pump. :(

Heehee! I was having a similar problem in my closet last fall. I swear the summer heat shrunk all my winter clothes! I have a ways to go yet but I have been shrinking at a fairly steady pace every since. (My doc now calls me his over achiever LOL)

Thank you for the hugs! As I thought. Shingles and something else. Drugs on board for one, working on solution for the other.

Steady shrinking is good! Keep it goin and you'll be in the shrunk winter clothes again before ya know it! :highfive:

Good deal on the meds! Hope you find a solution for the other soon! :fl

Grand daughter who suffers with Lupus went undiagnosed (shingles in her throat - treated as a bacterial infection) for weeks before they put her on antivirals. She was left neurologically impaired (that's improving) and deaf in her left ear. :barnie
Just WOW. One more time, I know how truly blessed I am.

Glad you caught it! Influenza can be bad for people with respiratory issues.

Hooray for no PT! As far as "the shop" is concerned, you'd think they'd show you some appreciation. Just remember - people can only take as much advantage of you as you let them.

:lau

Mine jams when I use steel cased bullets.... Brass is fine.
So I bought a ton of brass ammo.
You know..... In case it all hits the fan.

That would tick me off. :rant
It did a little... I'll get it back somehow.....

We have a good relationship... Phil my old boss is one of my best friends.
And he's not who called me in.
But still I had a bunch of miserable hours looking at it cuz it was an electrical nightmare and a BMW to boot. And electrical was my specialty. But I much prefer American electrics. The wiring diagrams make more sense.
The worst vehicle I ever worked on was a conversation van.... When they rewired it they use all yellow wires.... Must have been a sale on yellow that day.
