Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Grand daughter who suffers with Lupus went undiagnosed (shingles in her throat - treated as a bacterial infection) for weeks before they put her on antivirals. She was left neurologically impaired (that's improving) and deaf in her left ear. :barnie

Major dislike on that one! :hugs

Filled feeders at the beagle club, ran a trio of dogs , made lunch for the Princess and I/me ? Going back to fun in the sun.

Not me. I generally despised high school, inept/uncaring teachers, and the social order. But then again I'm a bit warped.

@chickisoup, My one 'very inquisitive' patdown at an airport was delivered by a somewhat effeminate young man who looked me in the eye throughout the entire procedure.

Doctors and normalcy. Several years ago I had a couple of 'spells' where my mind/memory went blank for short periods of time. Doctor scheduled me for a MRI of my brain telling me, "Just want to make sure everything is okay up there." Paused a bit, shook his head, and said, "Probably should have done that long ago." :lau
 Why be normal ? Being abnormal is much more fun:lau

Not to mention some people claim we have global WARMING. It makes me wonder if they are telling the truth, I am doubting they are at this point.
They laughed at Al Gore Called him Captain Planet :hmm The best way to see pollution is from afar . No mater what fuel we burn. What chemicals we use it affects our planet . At this stage of the game those that can't see it are either unedgeacated or blind or live inside their own head .The climate is doing Exactly !!what they said it would . And it has happened in the last two centuries. But leave the lights on burn a little more fossil fuel , We'll die long before it kills our great great great grand children and everybody else :hmm The environment has affected us our children , grand children and great grandchildren . Next time you get a chance look at birth defects and autism stats . The main decided cause of autism is the children can't flush the heavy toxins, from their bodies .Ands these toxins surround them every day .Think also about this ,lines of cars trucks flow around the clock , on our highways each one adding its little bit of pollution to the atmosphere . Besides what comes out of the exhaust pipes , The brakes pump billions of tiny particles into the atmosphere Asbestos isn't used in brakes anymore , but what other dangerous components are? engine oil and other fluids drip onto the highways and are carried into our streams by rain runoff .And we a re all responsible .It used to make me very angry when the movie stars and music stars would say cattle and other animal dung was the largest source of pollution on the planet .:hmm And they just used more fossil fuel to get to the talk show they were on,than most people use in a whole year . Not to mention all the none biodegradable products their profession pumps into the environment . But everyone is entitled to their own opinion . It is what always has made the United States great .And make no mistake, the United States never stopped being great:old

My mother has permanent nerve damage from her shingles. I hear the key is to get the antibiotics IMMEDIATELY & take them religiously (neither of which my mother did.)

I cant believe how squeezed into my normal clothes I am. I'm trying to behave, but today I had two pita breads with avocado & I'm pretty sure I exceed my caloric intake for the day. :he
:hugsI gots me a sure fire diet . Just don't eat:confused: If I don't die :thI'm bond to lose weight :fl And if I do die ,well weight problem solved :lau And I'm like what do you ware, for under ware when you paint your cloths on ? :idunnoI might have to go that route . :lau

Howdy pondies :frow I done it again . Haven't slept much for a few days .:thLeft yesterday early morning after only sleeping a couple hours .Drove to south Alabama loaded the tractor and got home at two this morning :thDW said I was sleeping but still driving this morning .Went good except one flat and a little trouble loading the tractor .:thThank goodness the flat happened while I was adding air to the tires before heading home , whole valve stem blew out of the wheel. I took every thing I needed , including my flat kit .Good thing too.:celebrate Drove two lane back roads back to Birmingham then 65 up to Tennessee . Little more than seven hundred miles of driving :thBy the time I cut cross country home I could barely stay awake .And if you got somewhere to go that involves driving I 65 in Alabama. find somewhere else to go .:barnie I thought I 24 in Kentucky was bad :barnieDW was jolted out of sleep I don't know how many times .:idunnoI do know she screamed every time .:lau

Hey @room onthebroom did your DD win the bet?

deb

Sort of yes & no.

DH didn't eat any table sugar for a week, but I caught him eating a spoonful of honey (& apparently he had been doing that all week.) I told him he was cheating & he said that when he & DD negotiated the terms it was agreed honey was ok. I told him a (barely) 11yr old is not familiar with the various types of simple sugars. He said, "but its like jam & I can eat jam too." I said sure you can on a sandwich, but not spoonfuls full.

DH conceded that he was inadvertently cheating all week, but DD is a good sport & said because she agreed to the honey terms she'd gladly give him the money. I continued to call him out as a cheater & he felt too guilt to actually take any cash from her. He then tried to bet her double or nothing that he could go all month without eating any sugar. I put a stop to it because I don't think we should be encouraging the kid to gamble, especially with such large sums of money.

In the long run she drew him a reward certificate to commemorate his win. I still say he cheated.

I know there are at least three pure Ancona’s in this clutch. The other three could be or could be Ancona Pekin or Ancona blue Swede. Any idea on how to tell them apart? :gig Also there are four khakis.

I only have to be on it for two weeks. Pre surgery....
I got samples for some other flavors but Bought unflavored because I didnt want that cloyingly sweet taste in the powder. Been on liquid diets before Bleahhh... ikk. But with no sweetness I can make cement taste good.

deb
I didn't know you had to go on a liquid diet first. Makes sense.
I much prefer the unflavored powder as well.
I use protein powder because I have a hard time getting enough into my diet. (just not a huge meat eater and because of the diabetes have to limit high carb stuff like beans. Rock and a hard place situation) Was able to score a huge can of unflavored for $10 just this week in my grocer's clearance (still perfectly fresh just no longer trying to sell it).
