Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

No trample, just got dumped and then drug by a crazy quarter horse. Suddenly not Wonder Girl anymore :lau
Been Drug too .... Along with a pole the rope was attached to..... Thank goodness Drafts have a short burst then decide its too much work... The Hames snapped and the rope came free before she would have drug me UP and OVER Bandini Mountain...:gig It took six semiloads to remove that when the county did inspections.....

I like land with interest.... but mostly hilly.... Mine is perfect layed out in Steppes... No trees. Except Salt bush

MY Aunt HATED trees... They lived in a little town in the Mojave Called Maricopa. She owned one side of main street... Wooden walkways dirt road through.... Holly Wood filmed A Star is Born there for a few shots. Chris Christoffersen and Barbara Strieshand... The town has real character....

But no Trees.

I like some trees. We have a big, thick grove to the north of the buildings that protects us from North and NW winds. It also houses deer, pheasants and a plethora of birds. You can't see our place from the road because of it. I like that We just have a couple of trees to the south of the house. I can see for a long way from there. I like that, too. I like to drive through mountains, but I feel a little claustrophobic after a while. They're beautiful and I love the scenery, but don't necessarily want to live in it.

Hey, Pond, back from the graduation. Traffic in the DC/Baltimore/Annapolis area is worse than around here. This morning it took us an hour to drive 20 miles to the graduation venue. If you are ever in Bowie, Md, go to Jerry's Seafood and have their crab cakes, and some of 'Grandma's' stewed tomatoes - best crab cakes and stewed tomatoes that I have EVER had. It's good to be home !

Evening Ponders,
well, just came in from battening down the hatches, we're in for a blow! talking possible 60 to 80 mph winds to hit us in a couple hours. they're warning folks with big trees close to their houses to maybe spend the evening elsewhere. Because of all the rain lately the ground is soft and a poor anchor for the roots. Don't think we have to worry too much as long as the winds blow from the northwest, our thick woods in that direction offers good protection from such things but it still won't keep trees elsewhere from taking out power lines. DH just got back from filling up the gas cans for the generators. This storm has the potential of being pretty widespread so if it does take our power out we could be down for possibly days. No huge deal for us (been there done that) but I feel sorry those that aren't prepared, like all the campers, retirees up from Florida, etc. My only concern is there might be a lot of hail with this as well. All the hard work to save the gardens form the last two freezing nights will be for naught if that happens.

So do you leave your car in the open so hail can beat the paint off of it, or put it under roof so the building can collapse on it? What to do, what to do.

Same aunt live in Town at the intersection in a mobile home. About three doors down from her Antique shop. She was a Glass Dealer... Oh Mannn she had such an array.

One time she came to visit us in Las Vegas while she was at an antique convention. Back in 65.... She was at the convention for a week and came to visit us before she went home.

As she was getting in her 64 station wagon... her parting shot was Whew I will be glad to get this off the road I have a quarter of million in Glass in the back..... :th
