Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Oh that will be nice in the winter for certain..... Always wondered how to put up walls in a tin type roof enclosure....

common around here in "our" (aka us and Phil) neighborhood. Must be a good 10 yrs or so ago that we ordered one of those "do it yourself" garage pole building kits from Menards. The big truck just shows up and dumps everything on the ground with the plans you worked out on their kiosk and away you go. DH set the main posts in advance then all the sons, son-in-laws and the grandkids and a friend or two showed up while us females kept them fed and "watered" and our nice 2 car and a bit more garage was up in a day with nothing than power drills and a table saw. Got some great pics of Pa and the boys working together. :D
Only thing missing was the Amish hats! :lau

The most terrifying words in the English language: "We're the government, and we're here to help."
So sad but true, especially as it was originally the intent that "we the people" were supposed to BE the government.

BTW-did I mention I quit the census? The pay just wasn't worth the cost to my sanity at my age. I was prepared, or so I thought since I have worked several different phases of the census in the past, but nothing could have prepared me for the level of incompetence and total lack of accurate communication this time and the effort put forth to make sure that the solid organic waste was going to travel downhill and away from the "bosses" when it started to hit the air circulation device for all the mistakes and missed deadlines. Nothing had splattered in my direction as of yet, but it was clear by the "political speak" (good at spreading the solid organic waste very thin and sprinkling it with pretty stuff to make it look like a nice cookie) that was spouted by our latest interim supervisor that he had no intention to take any responsibility for the coming stinky avalanche and it could possibly have gotten a bit ugly had he or anyone dared to fling it my way so best for all involved I exit now (there had already been a red flag or two that us at the bottom of the hill might become the prime targets). He was honestly floored when I called him and announced I thought it time now to end my census adventure. I was nice and gave him some lame reasons and we joked about them but......

the car repair guys on NPR retired a few years ago and one of the brothers has since passed, but they use to say at the end of the show don't drive like my brother and the other would reply the same, for a while it was my brother or my sister until she put her foot down on that!
I love when they do the "credits" at the end. Best part of the show! Listen every Sunday on NPR. Didnt know what they looked like, or even that one had died. Sorry to hear, but good post. Thank you
