Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Buying new glasses... it has been years, I need a new prescription... just can't put it off any longer... starting to get headaches with the old prescription.

But WOW! I wish I weren't so blind. For the super thin lenses... such an increase in cost...

I brought kid 3 with me... since I can see ZERO without my glasses on, he got to choose the new frames.

And yes... I could reuse my old frames... but only if I let them ship the frames to the lenses place... so no glasses for 2 weeks! (The rules of my insurance, the glasses place could put them in... but the insurance says no)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, Turk!

:hugs

Hooray for no surgery!!! :wee:ya

Does Ben need to become a ward of the state before Medicaid would pay for his care? You are a good father, K. Of course no one can do for him all that you do.

I wish I had words to help you feel better, Phil. All I've got is :hugs.
Ben is on a state waver .That pays for his day care and dental. He has Tenncare which is the state version. Here if you want help after they turn 18 you have to file conservetor ship papers .That makes him a ward of the state .The state then allows you to care for them.At that time we were able to get him tencare. He was able to go to public school.until he turned 22 .During those 4 years DW worked to get him the waver for day care.He has had a state case worker since he was 18.The state will not assist you. They will not tell you what kind of help is out there. His teachers told her what and what to do.But every thing has chainged. If Ben comes off the waver the state has no more to do with him .The feds take over they have turned it all over to some insurance company. We can only look at a list of possible places they could send him .If we don't like it we can look at the next one and so on.If you give them total control they put him out to bid and take the cheapest bid .And that could be anywhere in the country. So you see total care can cost as much as a hundred thousand a year.I can't tell you how many times that we have paid to keep him insured .we kept Ben on Dw insurance until the last job loss. There is only penneys left .Once again the money for the house has gone to a insurance company..Our system of goverment wasa good system.however theves

Natures miracle under the tarp.... It removes the odor that dogs associate with "Pee here"

Oh what ever you do do not put that tarp down on Humid floor.... Invites Mold.

deb
Luckily the floor isn't damp... well... when all of the pee has been cleaned off it isn't damp.

After a full on cleaning. .. turns out the floor is still in good shape... hurrah to Vinyl! So... we cleaned it super well, and the poor plant pot... and covered it all with a full coating of pepper dust.

:fl hope he inhales before he pees!

That’s terrible - that Ben could be sent anywhere in the country! I understand now why you want to keep him home as long as possible. :hugs

Good thing you have connections to get your glasses! Even with inexpensive frames, mine run about $800.
Good to catch up today. Not that I’ve been back for that long, but I’ll most likely be out until after the new year. Have a merry Christmas and happy new year!
The same to you and yours!

The dryer is in & on its initial 'get the burn smell out' run. :weeOne of the delivery guys was a live wire. He was going crazy for all the animals. :lau I wish the mannequin was in her normal spot by the door, he would have gone nuts for her. :gig
We had to replace our refrigerator last week. Nice delivery guys - one was all the brains, the other was there to lift stuff. Glad there's work out there for every type of person. Hope they get paid decently.
