So remember the crash of 98 ? The feds bailed out the banks .Who did nothing for thier customers .Well nothing except repossess thier assets. They then sat on those assets until the market turned and made huge profits.So it will suprise me if the airlines go under .It would also suprise me if they have 50% of the investers they have now .Some one is waiting for thier stock to hit rock bottom and grab a large if not controlling interest .And most likely with borrowed money from the fed.I was just wondering who would be able to control the crash and the resurrection. Know all the secrets and deny they do .Sound like anybody you know?

Good morning, Pond Folk. Going out into the world today. Need to buy a lawnmower and also a blade for the mower I tried to kill.

Morning Pond ... Six foot lily pads all around.

Discovered heating pad works for my back.. never had one before. Ahhhh. Goal is to wean off so many over the counter pain pills. Dont ask.

Now that the house floor is demoed the Contractor wants to meet up on Thursday to discuss the rehab. There are broken pipes in the wall I am sure because of the mold and the floor damage.

They are going to remove the try wall over all the wet walls. He has to do repairs to the water lines before he can fix the floors. I suggested he replace everything he can get to with fresh pipe. He agreed.

We are going to go over the materials list. He is strongly suggesting I go with vinyl linoleum flooring. dont want to so we will discuss it further. The floors aren't flat enough. I want to see what he is talking about.

Oh and I bought a kitchen faucet yesterday. Got a good idea for a kitchen sink as well. Since I will be washing Big pots in it I need a good deep sink.

Front door is picked out All steel with a foam core and leadded glass mosaic. Save fifty percent If I don't choose a color other than white. I can paint it myself. Comes pre-hung too.

kitchen cabinets Yep they are pricy but I dont need many. And bEcause I want a free standing kitchen I will check out custom cabinet makers. No uppers only shelving. Easy peasy.

I am having a six by eleven foot pantry built so all my food and storage items will be stored in there. The dimensions of the room were a little longer than I expected and I may be able to get my freezer in there We will see. I will have to vent the back side so it doesnt heat up the pantry. But all do able.

Because it gets so hot here in summer I am going to set up a Small AC unit in the window. The suggestions for pantry and home canned product is to store at around 70 degrees.

And yes... floors that are not flat, are a problem.

The floor we put in, you CAN feel through the floor the uneven bits.

Our main part of the old house...where we put in the new floor.... had part professional concrete slab... that had a couple of cracks. That part though, you could ignore the cracks, the professional concrete is nice and smooth... you can't feel the few cracks through the new floor...

But


Then we have a part that is home made and home poured concrete.

That home done stuff was an inch lower than the professional done part, and had a very bumpy funky rough end.

We looked at for a while, placed some planks down over the funky parts and walked over them... felt it..
And decided that some funky areas, that you can feel every time you walk over them, did NOT bother me in the least. And definitely wasn't worth the couple of thousand extra it would have cost to fix it.

And now in hindsight...

I am still happy, dont care.

I still feel it, but since I can't SEE it, it doesn't bother me. I think if the floor visibly showed the funky bits I would find that irritating.

And it does look like a weed... there is a poisonous weed in Texas that looks very much like a potato plant.

Why would your son not want your daughter to come home after that kind of "excitement" ?

He is worried about us .Our age my high blood pressure .No big deal ,shower clean cloths stored here and a mask when she came in the door.

My son teaches SpEd and is having a hard time with “distance learning”. His kids don’t all get the support they need to get their work done. My supervising teacher messaged her paras asking if we’d be willing to connect with our students via Zoom to help with homework, refresh skills, or just for socialization. Every one of us said yes. We miss our kids!

All sounds so exciting .If you chose tile uneven floors are not a problem .A good floor man can fix a unlevel floor.No problem .Even vinyl should not be layed on a unlevel floor .A good floor man would not lay any flooring on a bad subfloor.Foam backed vinyl will last longer without showing subfloor flaws .Even that needs to be on a level floor .With modren floor systems proper installation is a must .Backer boards like wonder board and durarock should be set with thinset tile cement .You would be amazed ,how many tile floor men don't do that very important step.Good floor leveler should be used on sub floors under hard wood flooring .If not it might creak .Stay on top of things Deb .My grandperents always had root cellars. 70 degrees sounds a might jigh to me corse mom kept it everywhere .I mean everywhere ,under beds in closets .Her pantry was full.We were alwasy telling her Mom! Its just you living here you know.

Well Went to Walmart .Don't know what I bougbt but it was not cheap.Should be able to feed Ben a while.Been 30 days he hasn't gone to the center. Wearing hard on my critters .So yesterday while I was feeding .He after eating half a roast chicken and pasta shells .And I left the refrigerator unlocked ,got the other half of the chicken out .Microwaved it ate most of it .Then took out a pound of frozen sausage plus a half a box of patties.Those he put on top of the refrigerator. I found them when I was putting lefto ers from dinnwr away. The patties should be alright the pound I don't know. I PRAY FOR BOREDOM.Driving to Town all I could think about was how close the tornado came to my DD.When she was a toddler one sucked the siding off the front of our house. I wasn't here DW said the walls shook.DW and my son have been scared of storms ever since.
