Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Morning Pond,
It is morning, right? Never went to sleep, spent the night in my recliner watching TV. Nothing serious, just an old malady flairing up, that's just painful enough to x sleeping. Fine now, just reeaaallyy tired. Good thing it's Sunday with no where to go anyway and rain starting later so no outdoor projects.
Glad to hear your chickies were all ok Perchie. Sorry about the heat. The fires have got to be a bit unnerving. 70 degrees here soon to drop to the low 60's high 50's this week with a lot of wet so I was finally able to convince the DH this would be a good day to take the AC out of the window. More than time, just one of those "round to it" jobs he's never eager to get round to.
Well, hope everyone is having a safe and secure holiday. Time for me to climb back into my Lazy Boy and take a long nap.

I had no idea those could be caught in the great lakes!

Wow!

Do they live their entire life in the lakes? Or they switch from the lakes to the rivers for their life cycle?

But then... no ocean water for them... wowsers.
I believe they're stocked as fingerlings. There's a weir in nearby Racine where they're stripped of their eggs on their way back to the river they were stocked in, where they'll die. I believe that's how it works, anyway

I saw the effects of the Alpine fire you’re talking about Deb. I went out to get the kids pizza last night & had an “uh oh” moment when I saw this.

You can’t see it from the pic, but the entire coastline was black from where the smoke is blowing out to sea.

Yep I suspect its still burning.

its 115 again here.

Might get worse because the heat of the day starts around 3Pm.

Hey I finished a pendant and a bracelet that was just a sampler of some of the new weaves I have been parusing.

The Pendant is pretty enough to take pictures of but not sturdy enough to wear. used the wrong gauge wire.

I knew it half way through but finished it because I wanted to know how it would turn out.

Next time I will use eighteen gauge frame wires instead of 20. But the stone is lovely and deserves to have substantial framework.

We peaked at a whopping 110* here today. The coop is 115*. We had to relocate the quail to kennels under the house. The garage is 105 & its 88 and rising quick inside the house. :hitI need to get the beetles out of the garage & under the house before they start cannibalizing themselves in this heat.:he

As of this morning the Valley Fire has eaten over 4,000 acres. Between the fire & the heat, the humane society is working like crazy to get animals evacuated into safe & cool zones.

*Deb did you know that all of the humane society campus’s are open to the public as cool zones? I don’t know if you’ve seen the new campus downtown, but it’s big & it’s nice. If you get too hot head over there. They have a large cat room that you can watch the kitty’s play.
