Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Evening pond.
Our first measurable snow may appear tomorrow. Cold tonight, even for this time of year for us. Had to start the furnace this evening. Mother Nature letting us know we had better get things buttoned up quick this year. Not a huge surprise. Our colors have peaked weeks early and far too quickly for any real show like in years past. Looks like it's going to be a long winter on our end of the pond. Sigh. Oh well, we're pretty much back into lock down anyway. Our luck ran out on dodging the worst of the virus. If you're following the reports you know Wisconsin is a mess. The national news reported today that the hospitals even up in Green Bay are reaching quarantine capacity. The numbers of new cases in our rural areas are climbing like nothing earlier. Guess it doesn't actually matter that the snows may come early, doesn't look like we'll be going anywhere any time soon anyway.

morning Phil :frow
snowed to our north but missed us. Been more than cold enough of course but so far we've dodged the moisture.
Hello pondites, happy Monday :frow
They're saying we could actually get back into the mid 50's today but I doubt it. it's still in the 20's here but we are actually seeing the big yellow ball this morning (been a while) so maybe. They're predicting we could actually get above normal by the end of the weekend! One last shot would be nice.
Got to get the garlic into the ground today so I can do the fall deep clean on the coop. Yep, they're connected. I always use the pre-fertilized and de-seeded broke down straw floor bedding from the summer as the winter mulch to cover the garlic. This method always gives me weed free beds with nice large bulbs next year.
