Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Thank you for caring Al :hugsNope, unfortunately not yet (actually it's poofed a bit more) give the drugs another day to kick in before another trip. I've decided that I am never going to try and celebrate another birthday!!! Had huge plans (even saved money for) to go to this huge fleamarket that is held this weekend every year. Tried several years to go but something always came up. This year was all clear and I was ready to go! :barnie So, just in case I was going to try it anyway, this morning my other leg (the one with all the screws and hardware) let me know I must have pulled a muscle with all the hopping around. I did manage to hobble out to the coop to let the girls out at daylight so they could enjoy the early morning before the heat climbed back into record digits again only to find one of my beautiful Buff O's peacefully dead at the bottom of the ramp to the roost bar. :thNo clue why. She was 100% fine yesterday at bedtime. Looked her over. Again, no clue. No sign of waterbelly, bad crop, nada. Everybody else, as far as I can tell, are good except nobody would come down until I removed her body from the coop, then they all trucked out like normal. Since we're expecting record heat today and there is already an air quality advisory I'll have to keep a close I on the rest of them. Anyone heard of any asteroids, tidal waves, UFO's heading for northern Wisconsin? Just checking.
:barnie can't catch a break!

How old was the hen?

And yes... when one body part is out of whack it results in strains and pains in all of the other body parts. Careful stretching throughout the day can help.

:hugs

Talking of the sky falling.....

Kid 2 has anxiety issues.... and so the crap car, that I really thought we should get rid of... was given to kid 2... and he is house sitting in the next town up the road 23 miles away...

So today... when he had off from work and an out of town friend was visiting... something on the back of the car unhooked/fell down, so that the car was un-drivable.

 So he texted me, and I said, well.... let us have kid 3 take off work early, and drive over and see if he can fix it.... and if not, I will have it towed and fixed....

But...... now spouse went out to teach kid 2 to drive a stick.

Because spouse for some reason I can not understand... simply can't understand that kid 2 has anxiety issues.... and maybe forcing him to learn to drive stick, on a day where he is already stressed.... is, well.... bad.

Yes, learning to drive a stick shift under stress probably won't work. I finally gave up teaching my middle daughter to drive a stick. It looked more like she was busting broncs in the rodeo. Little car was jumping all over the place.

DH taught me how to drive a stick when we were dating. It probably wouldn’t have gone as well after we got married. (I do love driving one, though.)
I love a manual transmission. I definitely want my kids to learn on one, but the old manual truck we have is undrivable right now & is so stiff that it would be cruel to try to teach them on it. I should really sell it, but it’s a ‘94 & I can’t find the pink slip.
