Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Good for her.
I was almost had big time by an Amazon scam last spring. These guys were really good with fake tech supports, graphically correct emails, etc. Fortunately my brain kicked in at the last minute and I was able to block the transfer and I found out later that Amazon had already frozen my account before I even figured out I was getting scammed so they couldn't do a second transaction and reversed the first one. Long embarrassing story but I should give credit to Western Union for being really great to work with (as long as you work directly with management and bypass all those working from home "customer service" jokers).

We are having a Currier and Ives morning. Snow on the ground (of course), mild temps, no wind and the trees covered with a thick layer of hoarfrost. Later today? Not so much. Waiting for the ice storm to start, sigh.
It's ok, we're ready. My new Yaktraks for my boots arrived in the mail yesterday, went to town and restocked all the critter food, and I had bought the DH a new flexfuel (gas/propane) generator for Christmas. Just us but enough food in the house to feed a volunteer fire department for days. Think I already shared about the family Christmas party last weekend so got that covered (made out like bandits on that one BTW ) and Pa is on his way home with a couple tanks of propane, gas for the John Deere plow the grandkids dropped off for us to use after last Saturday's party and a fresh load of chicken feed. Ok Mother Nature, bring it on!!!

So great!
We played an extra long game of Catan last night w some friends and the boy.
Just one service tonight for us. In the past we've done Christmas morning too, but being so close to the regular Sunday service, they decided to just do tonight and Sunday.
Yep... is a bit different with Christmas being on Saturday.

We had services this morning, (lots of epistle readings, and gospel readings and psalms), and then the big service is tonight... starts at 11pm.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Christ is born! (Well....almost....)

Merry Christmas Al and everyone here.
I just got back from town and noticed the mesquite trees are leafing out. They're usually the last tree to leaf out in the spring.
