Morning.... It's 21 here.. blue..and hazy sky here. Utah gets these inversions throughout the winter. We have some hard breathin days. We wait for windy or wet days to move it out. Nothing like that on the horizon. :/ Hope everyone has a good day. Thankful that our 3 year old grandson is still doing well day 4 after testing positive. Runny nose yes. Not hearing coughing.

Glad he’s doing OK. And you? How are you doing? Any symptoms showing up?

After looking more closely at the weather, the chickens will get to live a while longer. My weather app says the high was supposed to be 23 today, but the hourly forecast doesn’t show it getting above 5 all day. The “high” must have been in the middle of the night sometime…

I’m not sure. He’s vaxxed and had Covid in April, so he’s decided he has a cold. (He tested positive the day he was supposed to get his second dose, so had to wait until July for that). No cough, not much for upper respiratory symptoms, just no energy. Doesn’t really matter - we will act accordingly and do our best not to spread whatever it is.

Well, whatever I had was fairly short-lived. I mean, I'll probably have congestion for the rest. Of. My. Life!!!!

But, I feel really good now. Had a nice run this morning and it's going to be a lovely day.


Breeding pen decision needs to be made soon. Egg output is slowly ramping up, so it's probably time (if I'm going to do it - and I'm leaning that way today).

Welcome home, Friday!

Room, I agree with the bubble wrap assessment.

Chilly on my lily pad this morning, but it’s above zero, so I won’t complain too loudly.

Home again this weekend. We’d hoped to go see oldest DS and family, but DH has a cold and isn’t feeling up to going anywhere. So, we’re going to process a few chickens instead. Not as much fun as seeing my granddaughters, but needs to be done. On the bright side, I will have some delicious canned chicken and broth in my pantry.

Moring Pond was slow getting here Pugsly is getting my attention. 16 lbs. but great pup.. His two best friends where removed yesterday the gonads..
I have a old breeders mind if you cannot do something with the get needs altered. Lots of adorable pups in the pound.

Took a road trip today and picked up a new flock member!

He is eight weeks old today. DNA sexed male, so I do know he's a boy for sure. Now I just need a name for him.
